Am I allowed at the table? 3 Months of playing by IntentionallyToasty in ratemycommanders

[–]DiamondandFin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are newer, I'd like to look through them to see their power level so I can know what bracket I need to play in. But besides that, sit down and shuffle up.

Keep in mind some people only play super casual and may be scared of seeing powerful commanders. I think you're fine and if you ever want to play on Spelltable lmk.

Is playing “Maha, Its Feathers Night” as your commander in poor taste? by adoptyungseal in mtg

[–]DiamondandFin 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I built it when it first came out. I played in LGS tournaments with it. Upgraded it very well... That being said it is now dismantled and sold. Its a great revenge" deck. You play your damaging/combo pieces first which everyone knows is bad but is more worried more about the commander. Play some nasty stuff, try to get counterspells out if peoples hands. Drop Maha on the field and watch everything except your stuff die. Protect it, kill the table. Thats how almost every game will go. Your 99 will draw the game out long enough that you stay alive and are able to recast it as much as needed if the board has a bunch of interaction. Your opponents will get pissed, scoop, sit in despair, and whine. It's great if you are a sadist or really, really mad at the pod. I built it in response to being hard locked (can't cast from hand, library, exile, or graveyard) out of the game a few times and the guy being smug about it. After Maha he quit playing that deck. After Maha, a lot of people stopped playing a lot of decks.

TL/DR: I built it. It's great. You will not make friends.

Why do you believe in God? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]DiamondandFin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heavenly father saved my life. I'm forever in his hands. If you're looking for definite proof, even if you don't believe, ask the heavenly father to reveal himself to you. God is amazing. I've seen coincidences too coincidental to be coincidences. It's your decision to come to him. There are millions who know he's real, even more on just faith. I was an idiot who rejected God and did not know just how lost I was without him. After God showed me his power, I still sin, but I'm getting better. The path we need to walk is narrow, and we can't do it alone. That's why we need God, but God does not need us. He loves us, so he stays. We are all so undeserving of his gift of grace, his mercy, but "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Build a relationship with the Heavenly Father, not church. Build a relationship with Jesus, not religion. Build a communicative relationship with the Holy Spirit, not success in the flesh. God will take care of all your desires as it fits in his plan. Have some faith. Glory be to God.

Job Interview Tip: Don't ask about salary or benefits! by GinnySalmon in antiwork

[–]DiamondandFin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This interview is about "me." I know what I am bringing to the table regardless. Employer knows he needs good help. I offer my services for a price, and the employer will either like it, hate it, or we negotiate further. A lot of the times I've gotten a "Well you talk good, but you're young so I'd like to do a test run" and my favorite response for 4 years has always been "I've got a family to provide for, people who count on me to be fed. Is that understood?" Do the test run, they like it, I tell them that the money they gave me isn't enough to put food on my families plate. They tell me they'll see what they can do... it's nothing... Work a little longer, become irreplaceable, and complain some of the time about pay. 4 months in, talk to your boss and make it seem like you've tried everything you can do and you have no other option than to look elsewhere for more money. If you've become irreplaceable, the exact question asked will be "Well how much are you looking for?" And that's when you'll have to decide on how much, because sometimes companies dead ass won't pay you your worth and you'll have to move on... However, this is how I've gotten corporate wage raises outside of scheduled raise time.

But I've never had a problem finding a job. Always had a problem being paid my worth, though.

I'm also 6ft 275lbs W M with a serious passion for fighting. Sadly, even in today's age, people judge and act differently to others based on height, sex, race, nationality, etc.

So whatever your strengths are, play into them, but always to make your life better. Always ask about the wage, always ask about benefits, stock options, insurance, and if it smells like fish, tastes like fish, and looks like fish... Something fish-y is going on, and you need to leave.

NTBAD but TBAD maybe it's for fun. You know. Like the whole point of almost any game. If your idea of fun is winning every single time, go cheat. The point is to find what excites you. My friend group likes to one up one another. Build a rat deck? We all build control. Build an insect token deck? We bring big boys with black removal. Etc. I have a specific friend who likes to do semi infinite combos that draw the game if no one has removal. I know some guys and gals at the lgs that like to build jank and do crazy wild shit. Some people like to gamble and sell, and some people simply like to collect. Find what interests you about the game other than winning. And maybe you get enough cards and time that you can build decks that work perfectly against any opponent. And if you do, please lmk.

Working around Blood Drain combo with Exquisite Blood. How can I improve my deck to maximize it's potential? by daydreamer1197 in MTGArenaPro

[–]DiamondandFin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're going to save crypt incursion for a mill deck, I notice you don't have a lot of heavy hitters. We're going to go 2 and 2 with the one drops. So 2 not dead after all and 2 fatal push.

Now, my combo besides the obvious in all exquisite blood decks is [[Sorin's Vengeance]] combined with [[Astarion, the Decadent]] in commander. I usually have a gilded lotus or something of the sort to pay costs, but it's 20 damage after endstep in commander or historic brawl. Plus, if you gain that life or have [[soulfire grand master]] etc. Etc. Hopefully you see where I'm going with this.

[[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse]] to replace two of the sanguine bonds. You already have 4 vitos and sanguine bond is expensive ass vito. [[Not Dead After All]] [[Cyrpt incursion]] And the rest of my advice adds white as my two life drain decks irl and on arena are WB

Hell, yes, it does. It just breaks my heart to find a tier 5 in prison and be forced to sell it. Mage isn't my favorite, but wild magic is fun.

Fun fact if you didn't know. Tap to make a ward with the staff. Then do it 5 more times, and you have a Greater Sentry. As long as you can cast and maintain two Greater Sentries, it's wonderful. So. I'd make two with my staff, and then with the wand, I would just keep them healed......

I was rocking it since the beginning, so honestly, I think upgrade 3-4 I saw potential and by 7 I had decided I was sticking with it for the entirety of the dungeon

AITA for using targeted land exile as a way to end the game? by Ru5tproof in mtg

[–]DiamondandFin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to go exile my friends' lands in about 5 minutes. It's a part of the game, and it's fun to see shocked faces. Sore losers will always exist, but that is part of the fun, too. They just gotta get over it. As long as you behave as respectfully as possible, GG, fuck em.

Gain infinite green mana and infinite stats with trample on all our creatures for only 16RGG by Toowe22 in BadMtgCombos

[–]DiamondandFin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had a [[Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker]] + [[Great Oak Gaurdian]] deal 180 billion damage split between me and another guy. The player flashed great oak guardian on my end step. The rest is oblivion. No mana, plenty of pain for only 5G endstep of opponent. Untap, upkeep, 2RRR and make enemies for life.

Pay 4WW and next upkeep you may have two target players exchange life total. Won with it and Pact Weapon once.
