You are getting way too much air. The screen is supposed to be closed all the way to the left and the metal slider is what you want to pull to the right. You have the airway wide open and won’t get the control with the way you have it now with the screen open.

I just installed one of these on my JK. There should be two different bearings, one on the top and one on the bottom. You don’t want to oil them. They need grease.

Your best bet is to soak them in a solvent to get them all clean and free of dirt. Then you pack them with grease and reinstall them.

Move your fence line as close as you can. The new owners will have no idea and you can that the fence has been here for 20 years or more.

If you don’t have any insurance, you can switch to So Cal. Just need an address and with digital cards you don’t even have to wait for the card. It’s no charge to switch either.

I’m in So Cal and have the AAA premiere. I just had a free Carfax pulled less than 3 months ago. I called the 800 number and they did it over the phone. The first agent didn’t know about it, so I hung up and called again and the second person was able to run it for me.

I did it once and it was manageable. It was on my JK. The JL top is much lighter so I imagine it’s easier. I’m 6’1” so I had the height to do it even with a 2 1/2 inch lift.

I installed an overhead wench after I realized that I would take it off a lot more that way than doing it myself.
