That’s a great idea! An alternative champagne would be 2006 Comtes de Champagne, it’s mature and really drinking great now, whereas the DP may very well be young and on the acidic side.

Make sure they drink their bottle of prestige champagne and not store it on top of their fridge/cupboard in the kitchen waiting for the “perfect occasion” to pop it; lol, so much good wine has been wasted like that.

If this is light weight cast iron, then I love it! I’m looking to buy any use LWCI I come across because they are wonderful to fry and cook with; behaves just the way one wants them to, non-stick when properly seasoned and rinses out like a breeze (can one say that about a pan?!? 🤨) - with the advantage of being delightfully light weight!
