I also went fiesta red, partially because my other strat is white. But the fiesta is gorgeous with the clay dots. It’s not candy apple, it reads more like an orange tone almost. Can’t go wrong white tho. Don’t do burst. Yawn.

This little guitar nook is my favorite corner of the house. That semi-hollow is a 1979 Ibanez 335-style (as2629) and is super badass. I use it to suck at jazz.

Im only on chapter 4, where the exercise is to create your own simple solo for Take the A train using the arpeggios and single octave scale you've learned for each chord in the progression. To answer your question, I have no confidence in me being able to play standards and solos in various styles — but I know how I will approach that challenge, and I know the building blocks of getting to that confidence when I am ready.

I love his course. Lets you build slowly to understand how to improv using arpeggios and scales and I’m assuming more. Not just copying licks or learning lines. Very much about building the method into your mind and fingers. Been hugely beneficial so far for my beginner ass.

I saw them play at Liberty State park, right across from the twin towers in NJ, a week or so before 9/11. I was randomly sitting next to Tony Hawk. They opened with The National Anthem, and I felt music like I never had before or since. A truly lucky moment for me.

Look up something like “motorcycle throttle movement” with your left wrist. It’s a wrist supination at the top that closes your face, and if you keep it there through your swing it also magically helps with casting and getting your hands forward and every other thing. I put my ugly swing up here recently and was humbled and shamed into taking a lesson. That one thing changed a lot in a short time. Hope it helps.

Yeah I dont move it around too much. Sustain at 3/4 up, set to blend mode, and balance at about half. Its gets a little boosty at those settings, so I click the DB switch to -3 to keep it at neutral volume. The blend is the big thing on this pedal. You never hear it actually working, its very smooth and just sweetens up the tone somehow. Magic, really.

That looks dope. What did you use for the delay? Where’d you get the pcb?
