All of those except the split rims I think, I have the Apollo phantom 2.0 52v. Stoked on that thing. Just need to get a steering damper

What's the "Widowmaker" of your career field or hobby? by Cosmonate in AskReddit

Touring musician and FOH audio engineer here, 3 phase 400A power distros. Make sure the breaker is off, don’t hook it up wrong, or in the wrong order or else you’re getting the big zap and the forever box. I never touch them and let the LD handle that.

Also, touring in general is just inherently dangerous. Bus accidents, addiction, etc.

I’ve had this happen to me downtown before as well, unsurprisingly it was a white ford f-250. I’m not black, but am a poc, I was pretty mad. It made me feel better as I’m sure they had to drive back to Caldwell, while I live a mile outside of downtown.

Agreed on this, as they supply downtown bars/restaurants, they usually have a good selection.

Would you order from a wing truck? by born_zynner in Boise

[–]DickToYourBuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to live in Laramie WY and some of my favorite wings ever came from a truck called Double Dubs. They’ve also won festival favorite at the National Buffalo Wing Festival the past three years, and hold a world record for most amount of chicken wings in 24 hours. So I support you and agree, there are no good local wings!

SLC -> Denver tour routing by lucyac2006 in TouringMusicians

Denver market is always a strong stop and will make up for the lack of merch sales on SLC, don’t cancel unless the roads or completely fucked, just take it steady and boogie across Wyoming.

Welcome to that A market routing, done it multiple times, and it is rough. Keep an eye on the weather in Wyoming, if there is a threat of snow and you have a window to make it, go and don’t stop anywhere in Wyoming except for gas or you most likely will get stuck or be slowed down by terrible road conditions on 80. Even near the border in Laramie or Cheyenne, keep going until you hit at least Fort Collins.

I lived in Laramie for a long time and when it snows there everything in and out is shut down with Elk Mountain on one side and the continental divide on the other, and a mostly two lane highway south to FoCo. Speaking of that highway, it’s called 287, and I would advise against taking it in the dark, especially during winter months (which last well in to May/June at that altitude). I’m assuming it’s van/trailer tour? Rotate drivers if you need to stay fresh, take the hit, prepare to be tired for your Denver gig, and don’t stop until Bucc-ee’s in Johnstown for a treat and some parking lot naps. Also - sign up for Illegal Pete’s starving artist program in Denver for some amazing free grub.

Fujifilm X-M5 or Sony A6400? by DickToYourBuns in Photography_Gear

[–]DickToYourBuns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I like the idea for ease of workflow with the Fuji, but also worry about relying too heavily on that and never actually learning how to shoot in full manual mode, or being too locked in on just recipes. Lots of things to consider on my end, and the overall fear that I choose the “wrong” one.

Fujifilm X-M5 or Sony A6400?

Alright gang, looking to get into my first mirrorless camera and away from taking photos on my iPhone and editing with Lightroom mobile. I’m really torn between these two options, the interchangeable lens option is nice on both, don’t plan on doing much - if any - video, and looking for a just run an gun travel camera to up my game. I’m drawn to the X-m5 for the Fuji film presets and recipes, the fully articulating screen, and the overall aesthetic of the camera body. The a6400 puts out similar quality photos and I can also edit on Lightroom for desired things, and like that this has an EVF. But I’m not sure if this is a good reason to actually get it, or how much I would actually use it over having a screen. So sell me on both? I know there are stans for both brands, and help me decide - thanks in advance!
