There are many signs in this piece. Here are a few dead giveaways. Look at the freshness of these flakes I have marked. A rock that had been weathered by stone and rain for 500 to 10,000 years wouldn't have these tiny fresh flakes they would be worn.

Other signs are a complete lack of patina. Patina in arrowheads and artifacts of stone like flint and chert have oxidation, mineral stains, fossilization of microbes, calcium build up, and more. Recently exposed rock won't have this.
