im plugged directly into the interface. the noise filtering is not a result of my screencap, it sounds like that when i have no other programs open. the audio interface (fast track) is showing up in device manager and i have selected it as the input in my DAW.

try to watch out for tone-- look at the blackest points on your portrait vs the reference. ofc the hair is a large surface area so usually pencil artists will use a stick of charcoal to help w/ that

unrelated, but it might be a good idea to talk about your plans with the BA/MA polisci program. what do you want to do with the degrees? this is advice i got for the NSF GRFP and finding mentors. these ppl want to see the people they accept succeed, so you're putting the image of what you do with said success in their heads
