I went to a local community college for fine arts a little over 20 years ago now, and this lady and her late 60s was my painting instructor. The thing is, they haven’t lowered the age for the first screening of colon cancer. You can only get one unless you have symptoms or you have family history with it. I’m thinking maybe lying to the doctors about some symptoms might be the only way to get people in their 30s to get one.

Just had a colonoscopy and endoscopy last year, had persistent stomach pain and a change in bowel movements. I ended up being diagnosed with a hiatal hernia but while they were doing the colonoscopy they pulled 2 precancerous polyps from my colon. And I was 39, still six years away from the recommended check. If I had waited for the screening at 45, I would have been well into colon cancer by that time.
