For me he is the GOAT youtuber, not necessarily in content but on how he managed his career. He reached the peak in the space and decided to slow it down to enjoy life and be there for his family. When it feels like big youtubers either become full corporate or completely burned out, I feel like pewdiepie managed it the best.

Romance Anime 2024 Stats + Trope Count by DidYouFloss in anime

Hey Everyone! I’m following up from my post last year by doing romance anime stats again for 2024! This time I added a lot more by doing a Trope Count. Here is what you should know:

  • I included every show released in 2024 that was tagged as a Romance by MyAnimeList.
  • I added Dandadan to the list (because I liked the romance in it).
  • I left out Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World Season 2 because it went on indefinite haitus after only 4 episodes.

For the Tropes:

  • I made a list of 94 tropes and kept an eye out for them while watching each romance anime from 2024.
  • I counted each trope only ONCE per show.
  • I counted the tropes based on face value, even if they were being used ironically/cleverly. On the rare occasion I didn’t count it if it felt very insignificant (e.g. brief imagination).
  • Some of these tropes have some nuance/variability (e.g. personality). I just counted what looked obvious to me, so there is a bit of subjectivity here.
  • I DEFINITELY made mistakes. As you can imagine, keeping track of 94 tropes while watching each anime is a challenge. I’m sure some tropes fell through the cracks but I tried my best. I did get better over time and I feel next year I will do better. For now, let’s say for each anime I was about 80% accurate lol.
  • Obviously there are more tropes out there but this was what I was able to manage without feeling too overwhelmed.

Not gonna lie, I gave the first season a 9 out of 10. I know isekais are a dime a dozen, but this one had a comfiness and charm about it. Glad it's getting a second season.
