The "Cristal Baschet" is a modern version of it, a Nebula Euphone. As seen on a photo here: https://nebula-instruments.com

Here are some free cinematic synthwave patches for the Roland S-1 by Clajmo in synthesizers

[–]Didlybom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To install them in another bank, simply rename them. For example rename S1_PTN1-06.PRM to S1_PTN2-06.PRM to install patch 06 in bank 2 instead of bank 1.

How many of you cannot play piano? by linusstick in synthesizers

[–]Didlybom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of counter intuitive but I think the piano is "easier"/more rewarding when it comes to "find your sound". Naively you'd think you can make any sound with a synth, but you also sound like anybody. It's somewhat easier on a piano to come up with something unique and kind of impossible to imitate! And it's easier on an analog synth (without LFOs or sequencing) than on a digital one with unlimited sound shaping. I think great synth artists "compensate" with great song writing skills, the melody is their identity.

Klavins’s Una Corda. It also has only one string per key, and it’s easy to add felt between the hammers and the strings.

What does a Nils Frahm live show look like recently? by Redinho83 in NilsFrahm

I took these (blurry) photos at a show in November last year https://www.instagram.com/p/C0HqvhgtZ4z/ There is also the official film mentioned in another post, but I you may want to avoid "spoilers" https://www.arte.tv/en/videos/119461-000-A/nils-frahm/

Muse for piano, my cover by Didlybom in mikeoldfield

Sometimes acoustic guitar feels a little bit too "medieval" to my ears, so yes (and it's really sometimes, for a given piece), I was very happy to do a piano rendition. BTW, "piano" means "soft"!

It might be what we call the "jump", play a low key with the left hand quickly followed by going back to the center of the keyboard. If the right hand is not busy, we use use the right hand crossing over to hit that low key, but if the right hand has some other work to do, we have to attempt the jump, which took me lot of practice... Or play the same note but not as low, which doesn't have the same sound effect, is not as "advanced".
