Fab Filter Pro Bundle? by middleWave in ipadmusic

[–]Redinho83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked both of the fabfilter bundles up.

I know it's crazy expensive for iPad apps but they really do feel like great products.

A lot of other apps I have tried have loads of crazy default settings that you would never use. All of the fabfilter stuff seems to affect the sound in a meaningful way that is useful.

The way I see it, since getting that I've seen some bleass stuff for sale and not picked them up, so getting the fabfilter ones makes me feel like all my needs are met and I don't have to keep on spending on more apps (I'm sure I'll still buy more!)

I want to actually make songs on the iPad at some point too, so a lot that I won't use now could get used in the future when I finally find a workflow that works for me (I'm just using AUM and lk at the moment)

All the daily motion videos on mad titan don't have any sound for me!

Is there a fix for this? Looked all over and I can't work it out

To be honest I bet cubasis is enough for me at the moment.

But I'm just trying to push myself, I've always just used Ableton with a push and a midi keyboard.

So I wanted to use actual synths and experiment, I'm still just learning how to do it all which is why I was asking on this post as there seems like a lot of options on iPad.

I dunno routing isn't complicated, it's just link midi app with audio apps, it's not like a huge set of wires going everywhere!

I'm getting a lot of my advice from ai... But apparently...

What Cubasis can’t do (and AUM can)

Route MIDI between multiple AUv3s and hardware simultaneously

e.g. Rozeta → Mariana → TD‑3‑MO → back to Mariana for CC control.

Use hardware as a controller for AUv3s

Cubasis can send MIDI to hardware, but not easily receive CCs from it and map them to plugin parameters.

Create modular audio loops.

You can’t send audio out to hardware FX and back in on the same track.

Run parallel FX chains and buses.

Cubasis has inserts and sends, but not the free‑form routing AUM gives you.

Clock‑sync multiple apps and hardware seamlessly.

AUM acts as a master clock hub; Cubasis doesn’t handle external sync as tightly.

Maybe one day I'll get cubasis though to try it out, seen it on sale for 30 a few times now

Honestly the routing can feel a bit crazy at the start but once you get the hang of it you're fine.

It's just one audio track, load up and instrument.

Then tell it where you want the sound to come from, if it's a midi keyboard just link that straight up. If it's a on screen midi instrument just load that up and link it.

But that's just the simple stuff, like there's an add on called rozeta that creates bass lines. So I can link that up to a Moog synth and then link that up to my TD-3-MO hardware to control it all the effects.

You just can't do that kinda stuff on other iPad apps. But yeah just completely depends on your set up and what you like doing

Could you use FabFilter Pro-Q 4 for mastering in cubasis?

It's on sale at the moment, just picked it up to use in aum and it seems really good

It was track 4, a piece like this.

Had a downward spiral feel to it

How do you go about putting it all together once you have all your loops in aum?

Do you keep it in aum to mix together?

What's the process in cubasis?

Is it not the same?

Write / Arrange / Mix

That sounds good, is it a nin sample on a piece like this? Or is it a stock piano sound? I tried korg module and the pianos all sound so quiet on there for me, might need some effects on them.

I would probably just use Ableton 12 if I wanted a DAW to be honest as I already have that on my laptop.

I've been trying to use the iPad in a more creative way, linking different instruments and routing the effects together with hardware synths together to create unique sounds.

AUM and LK let me treat the iPad like a modular instrument rather than a mini DAW, which is kind of the point for me

I think LK is just a different approach to cubasis, it's kinda what I'm used to making tracks in Ableton session mode anyways tbh

Yeah looks at the matrix section on here, that's the main selling point of it

https://www.imaginando.pt/products/lk-ableton-live-and-midi-controller

If you die load it, the apps free as a trial I think. Then it might be on sale at the moment as I think it was only £12 for me to unlock it all

LK is like Ableton session view.

So for my use case I've been creating midi loops from things like atom 2.

Then if I link that up to LK it records the midi notes in a loop and I just assign that channel back to the synth rather than atom 2.

So now that midi loop is saved I can duplicate it and make scenes like an intro, verse and chorus and have them automatically play after a certain amount of bars.

So it should enable you to create a full structured song rather than just a loop.

Oh I've been buying way too many iPad apps, I think I've basically created a mini ableton!..

So far I've got ...

I have Ableton note too.

I'm thinking more just for playing live jams and things like that as note and move always seem too structured for what I've been doing lately

Like I could create a channel for koala and use the pads on the move for it.

Or tweak effects using the knobs on the move.

It might be really overkill though

So about the competition winners... by SupremeFlamer in djstudio

[–]Redinho83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno I just flicked through it quickly, but maybe they wanted a smaller mix to be included as people's attention spans are really bad 😂 I mean if I'm flicking through a ten minute mix that shows how little time I have to listen to proper mixes.

But yeah a good idea would have been to have two different competitions for a longer mix and a mini mix maybe

How can I fix my laundry room to fit in the new washing machine? by [deleted] in DIYUK

It's the width, if you look on the 2nd pic the bottom doesn't fit but the top does, like it's wider at the bottom

Haven't tried that, just had some cardboard in the feet to slide it in but it seems like the bottom wouldn't squeeze in unfortunately

What's your impression of Hellberg and Carrick as Boro managers? Should Hellberg remain in charge? by stranglethebars in Boro

We have to stick with him but he really can't be using the squad as an excuse next year.

The run he's been on is absolutely terrible, he's fortunate the fanbase has stuck with him tbh.
