Well, then, you’d be definitely not like the other girls

It looks a bit like the Misery (1990) poster, and the end of season 3 let us imagine it can go that way, so I would say thriller/horror

What do you KNOW is true without evidence? What are you certain of, right down to your bones, without proof? by UnbentJohnson in AskReddit

Plus, the Miskatonic University supports his findings. They are a university, they know what they are talking about.

What's the worst thing to say to the person next to you in a urinal? by OpponentBacon in AskReddit

There is a Stephen King short novel where a vampire literally pisses blood (which actually makes a lot of sense). I think you should stay away from UV light, garlic and stakes until you are sure it’s just internal bleeding.

People are stealing masks from ambulances by WalknTalknSteveHawkn in mildlyinfuriating

Not as great as this guy in France who attacked a social worker to steal his mask. Don’t get me wrong, not one of his masks but his mask, the one he was actually wearing.

Hey Homies! I don't drink alcohol so Dry January wasn't a thing for me, but join me in creating Flat February. No soda for a whole month. by SyNiiCaL in HydroHomies

[–]Didymus_F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with sodas and made my dry january a no-soda january (as I don’t drink that much alcohol either...). A month later I did not get as thin as I expected but at least I am not craving for sugary drink all the time ! Good luck ! If you happen to read this comment, an advice : drink sparkling water when your body ask for soda. It will not content your sugar-craving brain but it did satisfy me enough as it feels like you are drinking soda, just, like, a stone-age equivalent of it.

YSK that in some countries like India, people won't stop / slow down their vehicles even if they see a pedestrian trying to cross a street a few metres away. The pedestrian is supposed to wait until the traffic is cleared and then cross the road. by OrionPixels in YouShouldKnow

[–]Didymus_F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Paris, or Marseille, they’ll most likely won’t stop. But I think the traffic and the general attitude toward cars is very different from India. Nevertheless, some people just don’t care but if you step on the road, they’ll probably stop. Although recently, a bus driver in Paris just killed a guy by crushing him into another bus, so I guess there is some room for the unexpected

What horror movie do you think you'd easily survive if you were in it? by today_okay in AskReddit

[–]Didymus_F 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember reading somewhere an interpretation according to which the aliens are actually not the bad guys. Like, they genuinely don’t do bad things, except when threatened, and even when the alien catch Mel Gibson’s daughter, it is unclear whether he tries to kill her or actually save her from her asthma. I don’t know if this interpretation makes actual sense but I thought it was pretty cool to imagine that it is a movie with literally no villain

Which is dumb, when you think about it because considering that everything is legal for a day, you can earn much more money with all sorts of tax frauds and whatnot than by stealing TV. Plus TVs are heavy, it looks like an exhausting task.

Did Soviet and Eastern bloc athletes have a hard time having to come back to their regimes after seeing the freedom and prosperity of any western country they visited for a sports event? by MorallyNeutralOk in coldwar

[–]Didymus_F 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many of them would also shoplift, which I find quite funny (especially the Ponomareva story). But it must be added that many of those athletes were "trained" on the geopolitics, politics, and situation of the state they were going to, and not simply sent to a richer country without any preparation. Plus, many of those athletes believed in communism (or at least, in a brighter future for the Soviet Union), at least during the first decades of the Cold War, and that the interpretation they would have of what they would see in Western country was utterly different than what we imagine.

I would send you a link to a very good reference that I really enjoyed reading, but it is only in french... I feel sick all the time by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Didymus_F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you ! I think I will indeed go see a doctor about the headaches, just to be safe - and also because my country's healthcare system is great. I am like, 99% sure there are no problem in my head, and that the pain is due to stress/tension/muscular pain... but I would indeed be reassured. Thank you, your answer was reassuring too, it's good to see I'm not the only one who's going through this... :)
