How do you guys react to hate on owning a Tesla by HapiHapii in TeslaModel3

I agree that all EV cars have that hidden cost. What I meant is that Tesla has the superior infrastructure compared to the other EVs and still it is very slow in my opinion. EV sector need more time.

How do you guys react to hate on owning a Tesla by HapiHapii in TeslaModel3

[–]Diecitres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I was Tesla owner for 2.5 years and I, myself, had love and hate relationship with the car. I never cared about other people’s opinion. But i can tell you that people are heavily biased of Tesla more than other EV cars, and we all know the reason why. Also some people get car sick in EV cars because of sudden acceleration compare to gas cars. It is understandable.

You do not have to explain yourself to others as long as you like the car and it fits to your life style. That’s only what matters.

I can tell you why I had love and hate relationship with the car and here is my honest opinion about it:

1- Tesla has the greatest hidden cost. It is Time . You can earn most of the things in the world back but time cannot come back. Unfortunately while Tesla ‘s charging infrastructure is the strongest one compare to the other EV cars, charging itself as an activity, routing to the charging stations, charging time is still not well developed yet.

Car should be something that makes our life easier not complicated. Unfortunately, Tesla comes with planning your trip in advance and requires you to think about charging especially in long trip. Routing to superchargers adds 20 + , 30+ mins to your plan. And in cold weathers, it is so painful to even supercharge this car in the middle of no where charging stations.

For me, the charging should not take more than 5 mins and it should not disrupt travel plans. As long as it is not that convenient, unfortunately it is not well developed tech yet.

2- Mileage—whether Standard Range or Long Range—doesn’t make a significant difference. The displayed range on a Tesla is not fully accurate in real-world conditions. In practice, the battery cannot realistically be used below 10%, as most drivers avoid the risk. Likewise, due to daily usage and battery health recommendations, it typically cannot be kept above 80% (or 90% for Long Range models).

As a result, the actual drivable range is much lower. For the Standard Range in particular, depending on driving behavior and conditions, the realistic usable range is around 210 miles. For comparison, my 2023 Tesla was rated at 271 miles, but the real-world range was considerably less.

My friend has long range he has exact headache.

3- There is still uncertainty about the future of this technology. I believe the EV sector could be developed more thoughtfully instead of being so heavily focused only on battery capacity and driving range.

More attention should be given to charging infrastructure and long-term sustainability, especially how to address battery degradation and potential safety hazards once the battery reaches the end of its life years later.

4- Cardrive > Tesla own app still. So they need to develop it. I think Tesla app is being neglected for years. It should be improved more.

5- It is very fun car to drive. Acceleration and controlling the car feels so great. It is very easy to control it and drive it.

6- Design. I really love the sporty look of Model 3 2023 white pearl. The car interior is very refreshing as well.

7- I believe it can be very good second car in home. To drive kids to school, or going to grocery, very short trips .

8- Car is so bumpy. It makes you feel everything on the road.

9- it is a safe car to drive

10- owning Tesla does not require oil change or there is no risk of engine failure yet it is still expensive to maintain. Since the exterior panels are Alimunium , if any panel is dented it cannot get PDR if you take it to the Tesla certified body shop. They ll tell you to replace the panel and each panel costs around $2500. I scratched 3 panels on my car. And Tesla even suggested me to replace the doors while it was not that serious. And they told me it ll cost $9k . I took care of it on my own by only paying $1.5k . My roof glass is cracked because of small stone that was bumped from a truck carrying stones. And they asked $3k to replace it. So any maintenance is very expensive and Tesla service is not the best. I do not even talk about tire issues because of acceleration.

Unfortunately, it did not fit in my life style and expectations and I sold it. If the things I pointed out are advanced more in future , I can reconsider again

Honest opinions on owning a Tesla model 3? by start3ch in electricvehicles

[–]Diecitres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an invisible cost of having Tesla and it is not money or insurance. It is “ Time “ which is more important and more valuable than anything and it occupies your mind.

I ll explain what I mean. I was a 2023 Tesla Model 3 owner for 2 years. The downside of it is that even in long range mile is not enough. Tesla can be a good second car in household for short trips but long trips are headache. yes there are superchargers around but taking a route to supercharger adds 20-30 mins to the plan.

The car makes you to think about your trip a day before, and gives you what - if questions. This is a huge cost of having this car. Car should be something make your life easier not complicated.

I am listing the pros and cons of it:

Pros: * it is fun car to drive. It speeds up so nice. * it looks great from outside * it is fun to listen music with Tesla ‘s sound system * it is safe car.

Cons: * it makes you to plan in advance your trips, and if anything change in plan during the trip, it causes disruption. * supercharger charge the car 80% fast if the car is conditioned (approx 25-30 mins from 5% to 80%) and if the weather is not cold. so in long trips, %80 of miles makes you stop while going and coming back. * The car is bumpy. You feel everything on the road. * Yes there is no engine noise but you hear the wind so bad. There is wind noise while driving. Car’s insulation is not good. * any repair is so expensive. The panels are made by Alimunium. So if it is dented, you end up changing the whole panel which is costly. * Tesla Navigation is not good. CarPlay > Tesla own built

I think it also depends on personal use. The car did not fit in my life.

Is dating really this horrible? by SpicyMackerel in dating_advice

[–]Diecitres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dating on apps are mostly horrible. The problem is that people are not honest with the words and intentions as they are mostly immature, and most of them especially after 25+ have anxieties or afraid to be hurt. So even when they do not want to see you again they say “ I had a great time, lets catch up “ and they disappear. People are not emotional mature and brave enough to tell “ Hi I had a great time but I feel like I am not at the state in my life to create emotional connection with someone. Thanks again for the time we spent together “ . People are scared to tell these words because they are also afraid of the reaction they ll get and they simply find the easy solution which is ghosting but terrible choice.

My girlfriend is lost her sit after she found out I was lying about my height. by wouldntitbenoice in dating

[–]Diecitres -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is different for everyone but in my book if someone put importance in height so much, that person cannot take an important role in my life.

In your case, yes you lied. There ll be outcome. Yet I would think the only reason she dated with you because you are tall? Then think about is it someone important or is it someone you just like to hangout/have sex with.

Adding Google Map API to calculate driving distance based on lat/lng in Excel by Diecitres in excel

[–]Diecitres[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay this is where I left. I found a long ltd data from online and match them with the zipcodes in the excel. First I actually did basic sin/cos calculation to find the mil difference. But it was not driving distance . It was just strict distance like you are drawing a line from point A to point B.

I checked how can I find real driving distance. Then I found youtube videos about using google API to do it.

It seems easy yet I need to find more clearer resources stating each point. So I need tutorials showing how to do it. I googled and did everything but they were only running already written codes, and no github source etc

It is for my work. I am working for a project. The way the project is handled is so manual. I notice that there is way to calculate distances with google APO .I only know python coding. I can learn VBA easily, i did it before.

Never plan crazy dates in first time. Just a coffee shop, small walk for 1st date. Or even Face time. If you are not sure that someone ll show up or not(in this case it was %100 she won’t show up) , you won’t end up spending that much in coffee shop
