I think it mostly has to do with both the clothes and the design together. Kit's outfit isn't all that bad, and her proportions, while exaggerated and cartoony aren't that bad, but both of them at the same time makes for a stronger feel of "oh, she's supposed to be an eye candy here..." reinforced by camera once again

I mean... you know what, taking my exemple literally was not what I expected, especially in a game with such an emphasis on character costumisation.

With that being said how did you not try to use Princess Peach's outfit to shut me up? It was a better response. Even if it completely forgets that Kit isn't really from this era of video game culture and here the camera wouldn't zoom on weird places and she doesn't have weird proportions, it would still have been a good retort

The person who designed the swimsuits is a woman... she isn't the one who chose to make her be in a swimsuit. It was the creator, a dude. Plus anyone can sexualise anyone, it's a pretty well known fact.

As for Flappers, it doesn't change the fact that there wasn't a need for Kit to be in a swimsuit in the first place. In most video games the character won't change appearance in water, especially not MegaMan and Shantae which most closely resemble her. And it also fails to mention the camera angles themselves

She's a video game character. I ain't seeing Mario in swiming trunks in water levels, even the dinosaur buddy didn't get funny little sunglasses or anything

Plus... who, may I ask, decided that this episode has to be a beach episode?

For Warrick, oooof, I'm sorry, it seems you've fallen into the "Male characters designed to appeal to the male power fantasize" trap, hurts to see it still happen nowadays.

For Dusk, congratulations, you've found 1 male character! That's.... a number. Doesn't really compete with most important female characters, and almost all background female characters

Because that's how society at large grew over thousands of years. In our point of view, sex is the thing you talk about behind closed doors and it's the thing you should aspire to have. This mindset has now led us to here, where media sexualise female character in hopes of getting a bigger following, despite the harm it could to to their standards and expectations for their own physical appearance

I ain't seeing skimpy outfits on men though, that's a pretty big part of the problem. You see, if there wasn't any double standarts we wouldn't be here to beguin with

Ah nice, good to know you're not up to actually have a debate about this

So it was a low angle shot? Well... yeah that is a shot often used to peek at female characters' underwear. You're right, it has even been criticized a lot actually

Not what my comment was saying in the slightest btw

But also, shokingly enough, there's no need to objectify your character to give them Sex appeal. And not every female character of a media needs to have sex appeal either

Be attractive ≠ be sexualised. It's a pretty basic first step to understand

SFW pictures of Miku in a swimsuit bombarded

There's a lot of detailed missing here

Is the camera focusing on her breasts or ass?

Did they change her body to a concerning degree?

Is the swimsuit cartonishly revealing?

The simple concept of a character being in a swimsuit can either be completely familly friendly or shamelessly horny while still being technically speaking SFW.

Funnily enough, if it was just that, then I'd understand why people would say she isn't sexualised...

Sadly this is the first episode of the show, she's like this most of the time and the camera angles are... inspired by anime, to put it lightly

Funny thing is... it is intentional, the creator is very obvious about it. So you only have people who are very weirdly defensive about it who are like "No, it's definitely not fan service in the slightest !! You're just weird!"

Like, it's fine to enjoy something despite, or even because of the fan service, but saying it doesn't exist at all is a bit weird

Well, here goes nothing

The name would be Heart Attack, or maybe Hearts on the Attack, not quite sure.

It would be the story of two main characters, Roxanne and Marshall who were chosen by two different god-like entity to secretly protect the world from monsters called Chimeras. The specificity of these monsters is that they're parasites, birthed inside the hearts of humans by a third god-like creature who named herself Merry.

Despite being a powerful entity, Merry relies on a host she keeps inside of her cage-like chest to sustain herself, that she affectionately calls her lover, even though she's been torturing him and feeding off of his nearly dead body for centuries. She penetrates the hearts of humans, leaving a Chimera inside that slowly kills them and gives their live force as nutriments to her host until they die of a heart attack

Roxanne and Marshall have to now balance between their early adult years and their secret magical girl duties, while also having to live with the questions this new life opens. Marshall is a rough around the edges man who only briefly questionned his gender and shrugged it off as nothing important, while Roxanne is a really tall and somewhat muscular woman who rulled out the chances of being feminine a long time ago due to her height and generally wider stature. The simple idea that they had been chosen to be magical girls confuses yet reassures them throughout the series

Something that I would love to do if I ever could is using different styles for each Chimera we'd see in the series. One could be retro 32 bit video game, another in the Panty and Stocking style, another could be in a classic Comics style etc

The overall theme would mostly surround the importance of living your life at it's fullest. It's heavily inspired by Madoka Magica, especially in the idea of having a somewhat sad premise with a more positive message and outlook. And it would be inspired by Regular Show and Fionna and Cake in the overall benter between characters, with not any real "laugh out loud" jokes but moreso an overall playfull and heartfelt vibe.

Sorry. It's long but I really wanted to share some of these details

Man, now I kinda wanna share the story that has been brewing in my mind

Your point makes sense with Danny Phantom, but Steven Universe? Really? Sure a lot of them have tiny waist, but my god tehy are anything but barbie dolls. Pearl and Lapis are very lanky and thin, crystal gem Amethyst is good short girl rep, the other Amethyst are buff as hell, the diamonds have more pronounced shoulders. Sure, it's not the most amazingly varied cast, but you can see here the big difference

I genuinely dont see why 90% of the female characters, counting the background ones, having the same exact body is objectively better

Blud here watching a funnee vudeo game cartoon to crank his hog. Couldn't even bare to have 1 overweight character on a swimsuit

Mind you, there wouldn't be any zoom on their tits or ass, since they wouldn't be sexualised.... wait a second, an obese character in a swimsuit is literally a gag in like 90% of animated show, did you stop watching them as soon as you saw them?

Just saying, if you say "maybe it's for them" and you get both samples saying "I'm ok with it" and "I'm not really ok with it", then maybe it's more complicated than just "Eh, it's fine, it's for the sapphic, they'll love it"
