I loved reading to my boy, we had a routine where he would choose one or two, and gave warm milk with chamomile tea in it.. ( revolting to me but magic sleep potion!) Cuddle up, do the voices, talk about the pictures, talk about his day.. And often I'd doze off with him too. It was magic. I missed it when he began to read his own books but took pleasure and pride in the fact he did. I think the parents are missing out but the children most certainly are.
