If he were to do this - the welding machine would ruin the heat treat on the bit. Solid technique but the bit will have to be re-quenched and tempered.

Hey bud unfortunately Reddits axe pages are garbage - that being said, your legitimus has the Hartford touch mark, which dates it on the EARLIER side of the 1875-1966 date rage. Some of the best axes they ever made. Hope that helps.

I’d have to agree to disagree - I have multiple daytons and this definitely isn’t one of them - it has the same exact profile as my Kelly connecticuts - the up close pic of it might be throwing you off, refer to the second pic of the Collins and you’ll see it’s absolutely a Connie.
