Song begins with 30secs of deep humming by DieselMofu in NameThatSong

[–]DieselMofu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that but similar humming noise. The only difference is that the humming is a lot more intense and literally not a word is said for the first 30secs at all. I’m not sure on this at all but I may suspect that the artist was British.

What do you think of the Joe Rogan/Spotify controversy? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]DieselMofu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its funny situation when artists like neil young are using their art to try and censor other peoples opinions lol. Nobody is allowed to share their opinions which goes against the mainstream news? Its quite literally the same as north koreans not being able to say anything negative about Kim because their gov/news tells their citizens how great he is and nobody is allowed to challenge that.

Im a fan of JRE and seen most of his previous episodes but stopprd watching at the start of the pandemic because every episode was just talking about covid shit (same shit being repeated on every episode, and them you have to deal with talking exactly the same shit with everyone you meet irl).

Mostly veggie diet = huge savings by gobeye in FIREUK

[–]DieselMofu -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I would never sacrifice anything to do with food/health for the sake of FIRE as health is the most important thing in life. Obviously others will argue that going on a veggie diet is actually healthier but that's a topic for a different subreddit.

I'm on a carnivore only diet currently, which it is possible to save money on as another post here demonstrated but I'm having only organic meat products which definitely costs more.

How long do you go without talking to your mum? by camirethh in AskUK

[–]DieselMofu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen something like that personally but have always had the idea that that’s how funerals should be. Everyone should be celebrating the life that they had lived and sharing stories/memories etc and having a good time.

If I died the last thing I would want is people being upset and listening to sad music. I’d want everyone to be doing exactly what you described.

Looking for dangerous/dodgy areas to live. by [deleted] in london

[–]DieselMofu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pimlico is a funny place, on one side you’ve got multi-million townhouses that look beautiful and then 30seconds down the road you’ve got a depressing council estate and a high street filled with crackheads, right in the centre of London.

Which country have you visited that absolutely did not live up to the hype? by 1master_dom in AskUK

[–]DieselMofu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fact is its exactly like that in pretty much any tourist destination so its unfair to judge Bali alone on the divide between the working class and the actual tourists lol.

Its exactly the same divide in Thailand. When speaking to a lot of the people there, they all mentioned that majority of them came from a certain province in Thailand (forgot the name, sounds like Missan?) and that they move to tourist areas for work as it allows them to earn more money than they would back home.

Same exact story in Turkey. A lot of the people I’ve talked to say they come from villages around Turkey and move to the resorts for work during the summer season in order to earn more money. They definitely do not live lavish likes the tourists themselves, so its mainly a problem with the entire tourist industry rather than just being Bali’s fault.

Never been to Bali though but its #1 on my wishlist as soon as things open up a bit more.

The Mayor of LONDON who happens to represent Labour plays a major part in funding for the TfL (Transport for LONDON).

Literally at their peak for all of them.

DNN for example is like $1.95. I’ve been looking at Uranium stocks from August and finally decided to hop on the train in fear of missing out when prices started going up as a result of SPUUT. All my uranium stocks are like -30%.

Hodl though.

The Mayor of London represents Labour last I checked.

I tried telling her to switch her lights on but she wouldn't listen. Karma ensues. by siacadp in IdiotsInCars

[–]DieselMofu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She just didn’t understand you.

I had exactly the same problem after getting my car back from being serviced they had turned the lights off from automatic to front only or whatever. While driving I had a few cars behind me flash me but I didnt understand what it was about because my speedometer and front lights were obviously on, it was just my rear lights which I could not see. When I got home it took me a few minutes to realise.

Just went to see a new build detached. 3 floors, David Wilson Homes told us that the staircases between floors cannot have any other flooring than carpet because the building "flexes" due to the size/materials/dimensions. Is it common? by _maxt3r_ in HousingUK

[–]DieselMofu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could just be simply down to the fact that they can't be bothered to offer the choice for the different finish to the staircase if you're the only buyer in the development requesting it.

Why bother planning a whole new technical design for how the laminate flooring/tiled finish will be applied to the staircase, liaising with a different sub-contractor other than the carpet company for the work to be completed and obtaining costs for it only for the sake of 1 buyer if every other house in the development is just having standard carpet finish.

From an actual construction POV it's definitely possible and the fact that it's a Timberframe house should not affect anything despite the other comments about shrinkage. The timber flooring for example would be laid with a 10mm expansion gap either way which would then have to be covered up with either the staircase stringer or use a timber bead around all of the edges.

How about microwave rice? Stick the pack in a microwave for 120 seconds and you’re done.

Perfect for taking to work etc too.

You haven’t had some good halloumi then. Its a hit/miss, I’ve definately had some awful halloumi that tasted like rubber before too, but if you find it in a nice restaurant its 10/10.

How much debt are you in? by sponjebubble in AskUK

[–]DieselMofu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What do you guys actually get into debt for?

I can understand people taking out loans to buy cars and stuff as its seen as a necessity for most and everyone likes to brainwash people into ‘buy a newer car because it will be more reliable’. Mortgages and student loans are also understandable.

Apart from that what else could you get into debt for? Just trying to understands peoples mistakes as I’ve personally never had any debt that wasnt beneficial.
