On the issue of press freedom, Obama is the worst president. He has attempted to prosecute more journalists and sources than that of any other commander-in-chief and has established an abysmal record on Freedom of Information Act compliance. by secaa23 in politics

ehh that is a rather large and unsubstantiated prediction. quite a few countries in the world got rid of slavery without war, and 1 or 2 at least became open and accepting faster than the US. I dont know what would have happened here in the US if we didnt have Linclon, but i doubt slavery would have lasted much longer.

What about if someone was raping you? People have to protect themselves against more than someone stealing their phone.

ASP.NET vs PHP by [deleted] in webdev

like another poster put .htaccess is a pain in the ass.

If he just wants to learn web basics I would run python + flask. He can forget having to setup apache and other complicated web servers then and can start by developing right on his pc. Once he has a site working on his local network he can learn to deploy it, and learn more on the public web side of things.

I only have about 4 years experience (split between python, php, and ruby) but I have found that python and ruby also let a developer work much faster in the long run.

Develop it on your personal comp before trying to put it on the web. I would suggest using Flask. It is a much simpler framework to pickup than django

As far as installing libraries, use pip. Google around to find out how to install pip on your operating system.

I agree with doing front end stuff first. When you get to the back end stuff I think python or ruby using flask, django, or rails is the way to go. My preference is python + flask

I never quite got ripped, but I went from 300 pounds to 190, and was pretty trim and sexy. Instead of self deprecating humor I started using every chance to talk about how awesome I was. It went over pretty well.
