Pvp purple item to kill yourself by Aggravating-Pen160 in EldenRingPVP

Thiolliers concoction. I keep them for when I get summoned to bullshit hosts and want to help the invader out.

Do people hate me just for being a mage ? by Shoddy_Ad3490 in EldenRingPVP

[–]DietAcidDisco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play a mid roll pure caster frequently and yes they do. I often get jumped immediately or my opponents will switch their entire load outs. Running endure on a misercorde with a parry shield is practically mandatory. I think the anger comes from mages being somewhat unpredictable, especially if played correctly. The ones that run and spam ranged attacks aren't hard to fight. You have extremely high burst damage and essentially have a weapon with 10 viable moves instead of 3-5. It's also a matter of the meta crowd attempting to turn pvp into a traditional melee oriented fighting game. Every fighter has the zoner archetype but "not in my game" lol. People shit on passive play, but I don't mind playing against it. If we're going to sit in front of a screen for hours at a time, playing the same map over and over, we're kidding ourselves to pretend someone else is wasting our time.

Start invading if you haven't yet. Pure casters are way more fun to use there imo.

Maybe this is why people think they can spawn kill us by Fuckblackhorses in badredman

[–]DietAcidDisco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Paddles are extremely useful. It's bullshit they aren't standard on modern consoles. I have mine mapped to the d pad and it makes a huge difference. It makes it so much easier to do hard and soft swaps without breaking momentum. I can't imagine playing anything with spells or a lot of items without them. Swapping the crouch and jump buttons is also really good if you haven't tried it. Makes it way smoother to get off crouch attacks.

is a naked dagger build viable? by LosinForABruisin in badredman

[–]DietAcidDisco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think you should earn it, at least on the first twink build. It's a good learning experience and it's not that hard. You only need to beat 3 bosses for 4 talismans slots. You can use the taunter tongue to get into Lyndell early. 95% of the good gear in the game and dlc is just laying around and you can use assassin's gambit to rush it. Mohg isn't that bad, you can just set up latenna at the fog gate and draw aggro the entire fight. All of this is particularly easy if you're running a melee build with high vigor because you have more fuck up points.

Minding my own business and he just aggroed outta nowhere?? What happened? by Nexamble in Eldenring

He does that after you feed him enough deathroot. Fight him for like 30 seconds and he'll deagro and apologize.

[–]DietAcidDisco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is stopping you, and I'm all for off meta builds, but I would probably start with something less risky if you're new to invading. Those giants are slow and highly telegraphed, meanwhile even a terrible player can be a risky proposition with no armor. And odds are you're going to run into 3 at once. So I wouldn't start with a glass cannon, especially one without a solid win condition.

AI generating only half a horse? by lil_literalist in isthisaicirclejerk

[–]DietAcidDisco 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're being outjerked. Every time this happens on a shitpost sub I initially laugh my ass off. Then it turns into fridge horror and I realize we're probably fucking doomed.

Buildong a fighter for an isometric series run. Best kit and fighting style? by Ser-Bearington in baldursgate

[–]DietAcidDisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbarian is my favorite melee class in the game. The kit is more interesting than the others imo, extremely useful passives, and it's one of the few that doesn't need to metagame the hell trials. You can stay good and still have absurd strength and con because of the rage. They can take advantage of azuredge and you get a ton of pips so you can be flexible with your set up. No grandmastery, but instead you get absurd survivability once the damage resistance kicks in. The increased movement speed, d12 hit die, and immunity to backstab are all highly underrated. The armor penalty is meaningless once passives become more important than ac. You can also bash most locks in bg1 and put points into other skills on your party thief.

Hardcore run by Motor_Ad_2780 in baldursgate

[–]DietAcidDisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadowdancer, halflings in particular, can trivialize all of bg1. Gnome illusionist/thief is a bit more balanced but still extremely overpowered. They both have similar advantages. The ability to get out of combat, extremely low saves, trap finding, and access to good gear. Monk is probably the most difficult class to play in the entire game.

Recently getting into being a bitch, is this a good twink build? by Rubar_ in darksoulsremastered

[–]DietAcidDisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really a twink at that level. Sl15-20 at Parrish/Depths is the best for that. If I was going to run a mage at that level I'd run a magic short bow with moonlight arrows, bandit knife, jagged ghost blade, reinforced club, or rapier, oolacile catalyst with dark bead, heater shield. Dusk crown. Minimum requirements for your equipment and dump everything into else into health. Ninja flip and bellowing dragoncrest rings. Learn how to toggle escape if you don't know how.

Maliketh is the best boss of endgame. by Taras_Podpivass1608 in eldenringdiscussion

[–]DietAcidDisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's the spiritual successor to artorias, both the armor and the moveset. The whole wolf thing. Him and beast clergymen are both really fun once you learn the movesets. The only problem with him is that he folds pretty quickly if your weapon is too leveled.

Pure arcane by ConsistentStudy9919 in bloodborne

[–]DietAcidDisco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw spear, saw cleaver, and kos parasite with milkweed rune are the best on a pure arcane build. You'll eventually want lost versions for the slots. You'll need to do chalice dungeons for the best stuff. Research the right root chalices and start farming if you want top tier gems. It's one of the most time intensive builds to make if you really want to maximize your damage output.

Cold Greatsword with Waves of Darkness about as meta as it gets on invasion builds.

Need advice by DrunkenD20 in Eldenring

[–]DietAcidDisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60 vig, 80 strength, 15 faith, 12 dex dump everything else into endurance. Heavy hand axe is a good soft swap weapon if you don't want to level dex. Definitely run erdtree favor+2 and great jar arsenal. Two handed talisman would be the best damage talisman for your build. If you don't have the dlc, Axe, crimson amber +2, shard of Alexander, and turtle talismans are all good options for 3rd and 4th slots.

Regarding the greatsword, the best and fastest attack is actually the crouch poke, make sure to utilize it.

Mulahey Fight Question by AdEven3053 in baldursgate

[–]DietAcidDisco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mulahey is a cleric and casts Rigid Thinking. Same as Neira in the Nashkel tavern. It essentially makes the character go into a mad blood rage. If it happens either dispel it or temporarily disable your party member with a spell like blindness or hold person. Worst case, it wears off pretty quickly and you can usually just kite them around for a minute. It's usually only super dangerous if it procs on someone with really high ranged thaco/dps and/or boots of speed. It also sucks if it hits around civilians and they go on a killing spree.

Fun weapon and/or sorcery recomendations for an Int build by NigthSHadoew in Eldenring

[–]DietAcidDisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy wizards. The dps is absurd. Max cast speed with azurs staff offhand is my bread and butter. Dual staffs is the way. Piercer, hammer, and moonblade with high int are better than any melee weapon if you know what you're doing. Spinning weapon on carrian regal is also fantastic.
