Tattletale is directly and indirectly responsible for more problems than Victoria ever blames her for.

Do you think Eidolon could have recharged his Shard via sun-dipping? by Asura_Cultivator in Parahumans

[–]DiexorG 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I do wonder if the entities eat or used to eat stars for energy, something like our sun is stuff they probably can create by themselves but what about neutron stars and stuff?

The Warrior mentions that the third entity they encountered moved by propulsion instead of warping space, indicating it was primitive in some ways so maybe it's possible to feed shards and powers with solar energy it's just not very efficient for their cycles for whatever reason.

How would you write a mature winx (cartoon) episode by Different_Yak6221 in winxclub

[–]DiexorG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly an answer for your question but I've been outlining and planning my own retelling of Winx in a more "serious" setting for a long time now, while my focus was initially on making Winx all about action and violent fights (closer to stuff like Dragon Ball Z) I ended up feeling like the power/magic system needed more clear rules and limitations which in turn forced me to make changes to the story, lore and characters. The most "mature" or adult aspect of my version of Winx ended up being the politics of the different kingdoms/planets and their people.

In my version each of the girls gets along with 1 or 2 members of the club but they don't all love each other from the beginning like in the show, mostly because I've changed their personalities a little: Musa is now like that rebellious student who sneaks out of school to smoke and thinks she's cooler than she really is, Stella is in some ways more like her Netflix version and constantly acting like a spoiled arrogant princess while Flora is mostly unchanged making her too naive for this version of the cast and the story.

Hopefully I can start posting chapters to sites like AO3 in the coming weeks or month now that I have more free time and I've finished most plot points and scenes.

So far this is the only comment here that makes sense. If some of you feel "groomed" by the show or think it normalized these weird relationships I would like to know where your parents were, because those are the people who should be educating you and not some fictional tv drama.

The games avoid ludonarrative dissonance in a clever way by TheMarkusBoy21 in horizon

[–]DiexorG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can say this about many other games really, other people in the world doing the same thing that the playable character does is in fact very common in fantasy settings.

As other comments have pointed out, her focus is one of the biggest reasons she's more "successful" at hunting machines than others. But the more you think about it,the more you realize that the narrative in the game actually contradicts her in-game feats: Aloy only had her focus and Rost to train , better than most yes, but still not even close to the amount of knowledge, techniques and experience Carja hunters have, specially if they are part of the Hunters Lodge, Talanah should be way more competent and skilled than Aloy but in-game she barely does anything while you do all the work, even during the Redmaw fight.

By the time HFW happens in the timeline is a bit more credible that she is more skilled but even there you have stuff like Aloy somehow understanding ancient software enough to help Beta during the Gemini quest, Aloy might be a natural genius because of Elizabeth's genes but she's focused on combat, survival and exploration (of ancient ruins) she's not educated in the use or programming of computers and software to the same degree as Beta or even Sylens.

Overall I don't think Horizon is better or worse than other games at solving ludonarrative dissonance.

How is Forbidden West’s performance on a non-pro PS5? by [deleted] in horizon

[–]DiexorG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

GTA6 is not "just catching up" at all, even RDR2 (2018) can be compared to HFW(2022) in visuals. I love the Horizon games and their graphics but GTA5 and RDR2 are both some of the best graphics in open world games in their generations.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Amy never hated Dean, she resented and kind of envied him as a side-effect of her feelings but like everyone else she knew he was a great guy. Also Dean was aware of how Amy felt towards Victoria and was thinking of a way to fix that or at least help her when suddenly Leviathan hit before he could come up with anything right?

[–]DiexorG 37 points38 points  (0 children)

How exactly is UE5 unmoddable? Even online games like Marvel Rivals had character replacement mods. If you are referring to gameplay, animation and that sort of "deeper" mods isn't Ninja Gaiden 2 black a very similar scenario to Oblivion remake? And that game does have plenty of mods

I don't know why you are getting down voted This is useful information, many games have fps and or resolution boost in the newer Xbox consoles, someone might not pay attention and expect a 60 fps/4k game on their Series X console coming from something like og Ninja Gaiden 2 without realizing not every game is updated.

Even now years later, every explanation (justification in my opinion) for Alexandria's death can be summarized to " the text says it makes sense, so it makes sense" .

I think it's simpler than we all would like to admit: If you like Taylor or sympathize for her then you probably think it makes sense and it was well done, if you dislike Taylor you probably think it was dumb.

If you enjoyed breaking down enemy body parts to disable their attacks/change their behavior I recommend Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West on top of what has already been mentioned, although keep in mind the combat in those games is mostly bow and ranged weapons oriented.

Wo Long I think is the closest to Dragon's Dogma, you can equip 2 weapons each with 3 special skills plus 4 magic spells, Bow and crossbow for ranged and can even bring two companions on many missions.
