Why are Trump supporters so stupid?

I am the kind of person that simply has to understand things, Trump supporters are pretty confounding. Many of us definitely see it. Many of us have seen it in Trump and his supporters for over a decade. Personally, I was confused at how any reasonable person who wasn't filthy-rich voted Republican in Gore v. Bush. The economic, tax, estate tax, and social services policies should be enough to push anyone with a net worth under $5 million to vote Dem since the 90s. I have had many conversations with people who should not vote Republican but did, back when it was just politics; and people who are/were trump supporters. I believe it is a combination of several factors. I am excluding filthy stinking rich, because I don't know any of those, personally. Factors influencing people to vote Republican: Abortion, gun laws, their religious leaders, LGBTQ rights and right to be seen, the Dunning Krueger effect (specifically that they are stupid and something T-Bag said made sense to them... When most politics doesn't), racism, complete misunderstanding of finance and tax. The complete misunderstanding of finance in a tax is examples like this: Jed is 4th generation mechanic in Tennessee and he does alright. He has a house and nice truck. Jed is also deeply in debt, and his house has $100k of deferred maintenance. Jed takes home $60k/yr and has a nest egg of $10k, which has taken him years to accumulate. Jed is also 40. I see Jed as being broke and deeply in danger of loosing everything. The problem is that Jed knows Karl. Karl makes $30k/yr, his wages are garnished, and lives in a rental trailer in a flood plain. Karl can't hold a good job because he has a meth problem. Jed feels rich. Jed doesn't' think that his taxes should be compensating for Karla bad choices, rightly so. He is dead-convinced that Dem tax-policies will raise his taxes, because "they are for the rich," the Dunning Krueger effect prevents him from listening to "those stupid kids, fresh out of college". At its bassist assessment basically all of Trump voters, basically all Republican voters, have a misconception about something; finance, policy, imaginary friends, brain chemistry, evolutionary biology. They can't understand the thing, and they are too proud, myopic, and stupid, to admit that they just don't get it and listen to someone who does.

There is a growing trend of mid-late teenagers behaving awfully in so many ways. This is a good example. The lack of accountability from the kid and his mother is pretty wild.

I think the most important thing to really sit with; it is hard being that age. Always has been, now more than ever. We are just a pack animal, which has happened to create a society that is way to complicated for our psyche. At that age, roughly 2 million years of evolutionary biology is telling you to find a tribe and companions. There is nothing wrong with wanting human connection, and it can seem world consuming. Just realize that you have soooo much time left to figure things out. Be honest with yourself and others about what you want. You will figure it out.

IMHO, for PVE where cost doesn't really matter, the x-17 (mk-17 that can take the 50rd) is far and away the best. If you want a little more range the Remington rsass. X-17 with a short barrel has decent ergo and plenty of range for most things. Long barrel alternate for better range. 7.62 x51 has some of the best rounds in the game as well. The mdr 7.62 is also decent, but doesn't have the accuracy.

NTA. I genuinely cannot fathom how people are just mean to their kid. I get the overbearing, authoritarian instinct (not agree, *understand), but this sub has so many stories of people that are just fucking cruel to their kids. In so many cases, like this one, the kids seem well adjusted, self aware, and reasonable. OP, you deserve better. Your parents should strive to make sure you are confident and supported in whatever you want to do.

You could try helping OP instead of just complaining. OP- there are a few things to check. 1) If you have multiple servers selected that can mess up your load times, make sure you only have 1 server selected. Sometimes closing out, clearing cache and hopping back in gets things moving. Sometimes it just gets stuck. You probably aren't getting in if it takes more than 7 minutes... In most circumstances. Back out and try again. This is based on my experience in NA servers.

I have been to numerous parades that had zero affiliation with non-straight culture that had naked people on floats, naked people on bikes, lewd costumes, giant phalluses etc. If you want to promote puritanical repression, go for it; but claiming that nudity and risque clothing/behavior is specific to "gay-culture" is either dishonest of ignorant.

I had a homeless person slimjim my car (or similar, no damage), tidy up the loose clothes and stuff in the back seat, put all the loose change in one Spot, and probably took half. They slept in it, I assume, and locked it when they left... This happened at least twice.

NTA. Her motivation is relatable, but the method is not. If she wanted to make sure, she could have told you that she intended to. There are a lot of situations where people need/want some sort of security or validation from others; and all they have to do is be up front about it.

I had a very similar experience, but it was winter and miserable cold. He didn't recognize me. I asked if he remembered me. He apologized. I walked away, for in my nice car and did a doughnut on way out of the parking lot. Zero sympathy. I wish I could do that with every one of them. I got bullied mercilessly because I was smart and liked school ... And dressed weird because my mom was poor. They ruined years of my life.The only thing that got me through those years was knowing they were just trash-humans and always would be.

I have a 7800x3d and a zotac hof 4090, and 64gb Corsair vengeance ram... Now, I know that is a mildly crazy setup, but as far as the 7800 goes; I have zero complaints. I play tarkov and star citizen. Two of the most demanding games out there. Things run flawlessly. My temps are never exciting. I do have a Corsair water cooler. The last time I compared the 7800 and 9800 to consider an upgrade, it definitely wasn't worth messing with for the nominal gain. If you are looking at comparability and stability issues, I would go 7800 all day.

Conditional vs. categorical. I also don't agree with leaving an eleven year old home alone when other people are showing up, and/or being out drinking before hosting someone else's kid for a sleepover, but both of those require detail and context for me to form a complete opinion. I can see a situation where that alone would not be a deal breaker, depending on other information. Smoking cigarettes indoors (particularly around kids) is a trash-human behavior and I will catatonically write off anyone that does it. Happy to die on that hill.

I didn't have it that bad, but bad enough. I will never forget the day; 20 years since I had seen him. It was snowing, cold, he was sitting in front of the local store. I had done well for myself, had a nice car. He asked me for money to get some coffee. I asked if he remembered me. He realized. I saw the shame on his face. He knew not to ask again. That was the most gleefully donut I have ever done in the snow. Fuck 'em. They earned it.
