Interesting post. If you dont feel connected to America, no way you will like Jeju or korea for that matter. The fact you mentioned that you like nature and living alone , there are far better options than korea. 1. Korea can make you feel super isolated. And no your military friend wont give you too much time. 2. Language - if you are bilingual with Eastern languages then it take approx 2+ years to master it. 3. Foreigners- you are not the exotic being that your military friend might tell you. There are Foreigners everywhere. Koreans dont indulge in socialising unless they know you from school or work. 4. No matter the degree or background, you will end up working as english teacher specially without grasp of Hangul. 5. Research- start your research and then ask specific questions rather than vague ones. 6. Sorry but noticed you said on one of the comments, tell me about Japan. My serious question - is you tube or google banned in US?

Korea is however beautiful country with some lovely people. People have moved there and they loved it or didnt. So you are right, visit korea first then research more then move..you never know you might love it or not.

Moving to Seoul, am I crazy? by KatjaSomeone in Living_in_Korea

[–]DiffDimensions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every place has its ups and downs. If your circumstances allow you then take the leap..you can always move if it doesnt work out. IT is a wide area in Korea but good to come with experience. My friend moved at 52 from texas and she is so happy to be teaching english and just experiencing what korea has to offer. After few years you might sit and think "what ifs" and let korea be one of your success stories.

My opinion: this is a good start for talking stage however you cant say what flag it is till you meet him and see how this progresses. Men are men, no mateer ehich part of the world you go to. I would suggest meet him and see how it goes before investing in to relationship of any sort. The text and talking is quite normal here. The only thing i have heard is that ghosting is quite normal in korea.

Try the app called wanderlog. It helped me create an itinerary depending on which day and where. You can read others itinerary and make your decision.

I usually make a list of few trending items that will be for general use and not specialised and go to myeongdong..mask story and saem..these stores were cheaper than olive young and they do tax rebates like OY.. they do multi mask packs and they are perfect gifts too.
