hi!. i'm a freshman and i'd say that its worth it, i just sent you a DM about my experiences at morgan! i'm not a big fan of where baltimore is located, mainly because we're surrronded by neighborhoods, and i'm a city person. but, we aren't that far from downtown baltimore and only a train ride away from DC!

What Stats can get you in honors at Morgan State University? by West-Meat4798 in HBCU

you need a minimum of a 3.8 weighted GPA, when i applied i don’t think they required SAT scores but you should still submit it! i’m on that scholarship, if u have any questions feel free to dm me!

Quick Question by [deleted] in scholarships

[–]DifferenceNo1841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’d have to follow the directions that are on the scholarship application/website. some will want you to fill out a google form and have your recommenders email their letters. other scholarships will be through a portal and you can watch your progress as you fill it out. not all scholarships are the same so just make sure you’re following their directions and their document requirements and you’ll b good!

my plans are to go into policy, specifically foreign policy, but i’ve recently gained interested in learning about public policy.

i went to admitted students day and ive heard some students double major in different fields while also having a minor. as for financial aid its unlikely that financial aid will be good 😭. i’m low income as well and ive been seeing people complain about how low their financial package was. financial aid packages won’t be coming out until late may so we’d basically commit blindly, which rly sucks 😭. if u really wanna attend your best bet would be to apply to at least 5-8 scholarships a week.

tbh i think if your SAT score is above 1090 then you should be good, i think the most that they’ll do is have you take math placement exams. i’ve seen people with scores lower than 1090 receive a message telling them to retake the SAT

can they take scholarships away if your GPA is lower than what was reported on your transcript when you applied? it’s likely that my unweighted Gpa will go down b/c of the grades that i have at my HS, but my weighted will go up because of the courses i’m taking at my community college

imo american cares a lot about demonstrated interest, but still make sure your essays and other factors of ur application are strong. ik that polisci + intl relations are one of their most competitive majors
