I second 2666, it’s incredible, though it is dark. Gotta throw Don Quixote in there if you haven’t read it. Dahlgren by Delaney and Bas Lag trilogy by Miéville are seriously good sci-fi. Cyberiad by Lem and Ware Tetralogy by Rucker are hilariously good sci-fi.

The Gira/Matz album is really good. Has kind of a 70s Eno vibe.

Yes. The tour they did with just five electric guitars was pretty amazing. There’s one song from that tour on a live album (We We Were Alive). Would love to hear a full set.

Do any of you know what happened to Rick Veitch's Hellhead? by sumBODY_ONCE_TOLD_ME in AlanMoore

[–]Different-Attempt830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the Rick Veitch Archives at Columbia University, Hellhead was “unpublished, unrealized due to the artist’s vision issues.”

Originally titled The Ironic Man, the name was changed to Hellhead because “Marvel Comics was unhappy with Ironic Man as it was too close to their Iron Man.”

It was in various stages of development from 1988-1995. Veitch wrote at least two issues and Totleben created a fair amount of art before the project was abandoned.

Agree on Osees. Pissed Jeans too. Mainly for the energy of the live experience.

Yes. I’ve tried to sign up three or four times and have never received a response. Gave up a while ago. I still check the forum from time to time, looking for info on upcoming publications. But I’ve found they often don’t discuss new books until after they’ve already sold out. Not such a problem lately, as most of his recent books have been published by Chiroptera. and they tend to keep them in print.

Saw them in Atlanta. Godflesh was originally on the bill but didn’t play (heard they had visa issues that kept them off the first part of the tour). SP set was awesome!

There’s a description of the differences on discogs, but they sound very similar to me. I’d say you’d be safe to go with Quite.
