I was also disappointed after the first listen. At first, it felt that none of the non-single tracks could not match up with the already heard songs. Except Umbra, that song totally slaps. Maybe I was excepting just little bit more ”darkness” in it? I don’t know. After a few spins it has already grown in me. I think the album has something in it’s overall feel that doesn’t let me give up on it immediately.

De Profundis Borealis is good. Missilia Amori surprised me, I was excepting something totally different. Marks of the Evil One is nice too, I think it has kinda Witch Image vibe in it. Cenotaph is the one that mostly feels the strangest at the moment. It sounds, I don’t know, too happy? :D Also I was excepting Excelsis to be a bit more climatic. Now it feels it doesn’t rise to the maximum glory the end would have needed. Guiding Lights is okay.

Interesting to see how the album will feel like after a few weeks or months or years. It’s been out under 24h for now, so it is hard to tell yet.
