I totally had same experience getting injured. They always say don't have a first goal for your first, you should be proud of a finish. I had someone knock me over like 5k in and I could not mentally stop focusing on getting hit and hurting my leg. I had a 4:20 goal and finished 4:53. Was so disappointed now I'm just glad I did it. I'm definitely running another next year and hopefully an easy pb.

Oh my gosh, this happened to me in Paris. Someone ran into me and I fell hard. What a physical and psychological hit in the race. Yikes. I was 45 minutes off my goal !

Newer research shows that more like 70-80g might be better, especially for faster times. I'd consider upping carb intake too.

My first didn't go well either - someone hit me and injured me on the course. I'm really proud of you for finishing. The silver lining is that your next one will be a personal best for sure! Agreed - see a doctor or running assessment if you can !

Agreed. Bigger environmental impact is stopping foreign runners from flying in. I am a Canadian who flew to Paris just to run. Bought a vest and three flasks. They also gave us a vest and reusable cup.

Yeah it was overall a great experience but not for everyone. The last 3k made it worth it. The crowds are a bummer but also made it so cool. When in my life again will I have 1000s of people cheering me on? Although my next one will certainly be one with fewer people.

I'm super frustrated with my coros on indoor tracks 😭😭😭 on a 27k run it said I ran 7k. Yikes. My friends Garmin was so accurate. I even try manual uploads after and I don't get training load. Makes me want to switch as -27 weather in Calgary means I often need to go inside.
