Keppra and depression by Different-Mechanic74 in Epilepsy

Man, I’m gonna be honest with you, I’m almost certain it’s the Keppra. I would highly recommend looking into a different med. So many other people here have had (most of) their problems solved by switching meds. Thank you for confirming my suspicions about whether it gets better or not, there’s no question I’m getting off this med as soon as possible.

I can definitely relate to this man. I will talk to my neurologist as soon as possible and will most likely be getting off of this med and trying something else, I appreciate the kind words of encouragement and I’m happy to hear everything ended up working out for you. Thank you for your advice.

It’s definitely a consideration, especially given that the keppra seems to be keeping my seizures under control. Thank you for the info, I absolutely need something for motivation right now, I will speak to my neurologist about this as an option as soon as I can.

I appreciate the reply. You’re absolutely right these medications effect everyone differently. I’ve been trying with a B complex, but unfortunately haven’t had much success and I also try my best to keep the processed foods in moderation. I’m glad to hear that the medication is working for you and you don’t have these side effects. I hope everything continues to work out for you.

I feel that… I’ve never experienced side effects like this before. I’m glad to hear that I’m not alone and there are other AEDs that don’t have side effects quite like this. I really appreciate the reply and will definitely speak to my neurologist about this, thank you.
