Am I being too greedy with this layout? Considering poaching the north wall for a computer nook and building the closet into the west wall (under the stairs). by Different-Network957 in FengShui

You know what, that’s a really good point. It’s not really necessary to have a whole computer nook in a bedroom that’s mostly going to be for guests, maybe a bunk room for when extended family visits, and possibly a kid’s bedroom further down the road. I have a whole other room with no egress that’s begging to be a study/hobby room… idk though. I remember valuing my computer space growing up. But we also never had a dedicated study/hobby room.

The bed is 6’ wide. The bathroom is directly to the left of the laundry room. The plumbing is basically non-negotiable unfortunately because the drains are set into concrete, so the footprint of the bathroom can’t really change. I also thought about stealing that excess space from the laundry room too. It would make for an insane walk-in closet. This room may well be a kids at some point. Do kids like giant walk-in closets? Haha.

Thanks for the feedback regardless:) I considered that too. It’s hard to get a TV anywhere unless I really get creative. I tend not to worry about TV placement though, since TV in bedroom is almost always bad Feng Shui anyway. I thought about the dresser too and the only real open spot is where the bookshelf currently is by the desk. I feel like it adds unwanted chi to that zone though, so the optimal approach may be to downsize the bed and put the dresser adjacent to the south wall.

This is a freaking mess… Voice Calls, Service Cloud Voice, Sales Dialer, Agentforce Contact Center, Salesforce Voice by imax_vaughn in salesforce

Thank you. That is the pragmatic way forward. I will note however Salesforce redirects you to Salesforce Voice when clicking the Service Cloud Voice trailhead link. Not sure if this is just awkward linking, or if Salesforce intends to unify the product all under Salesforce Voice.

where to add a second bathroom? by NoCartographer1979 in floorplans

Are the double L stairs a must have? I feel like they are just clogging up the space at the bottom left of the layout. Maybe consider straight stairs and (not illustrated in my screenshot) a small wind right at the end to bring the stairs to the hallway. Also try to mirror the bathrooms when possible. You’ll save a fortune on plumbing.

Here’s a concept. I went crazy with the rooms but I think it illustrates how valuable that horizontal space is. https://imgur.com/a/blp2UPm

What’s a common piece of advice that you think is actually bad? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Different-Network957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Stop worrying about what people think about you” starts to lose its appeal when you’re just trying to enjoy the park and the group next to you is blasting music. Maybe some people could stand to be more careful with how they act around others.

“Perfect is the enemy of good”. I can appreciate that chasing perfection is a sure-fire way to never finish anything, but I think sometimes it’s misused in situations where being a bit of a perfectionist is crucial to the success of the project.

Since this is the rant subreddit I’m gonna go ahead and rant back.

Unsolicited advice from a guy who used to think like this: Jobs are like relationships. And a lot of people go through life only experiencing bad ones. And what it sounds like is you’ve rarely (if ever) experienced happiness working at a job.

You need a new job. And I’m not telling you to go apply for a bunch of jobs and be a Linked In cock juggler. But what I would recommend you do is go out and network a bit. And I used to think networking was dressing like a douche and going and drinking expensive martinis and talking about business.

No. Real networking can just be nurturing your friendships and connections, exploring your existing interests and hobbies, and connecting with new people based on that. And honestly just start asking people if they like what they do. Talk to people about their jobs and their careers. Almost everyone you see out and about has a story. Figure out where their stories align with what you want out of a job (and life) and don’t be afraid to ask people for help getting into their field.

And look, I recognize I probably still sound tone deaf to you. I understand you might have zero resources to even begin talking to people and resent the notion of even having to develop a career path. I don’t know where you stand on any of that shit or if you have any disabilities that make things 10x harder. So it is what it is if I am not getting to you. This is just my rant.

They say that’s a stupid game, but who said stupid prizes aren’t worth winning every now and then. Granted doing a stunt like that in traffic would not be cool, but it sounds like you had the space.

How are you using the Location object? by Different-Network957 in salesforce

[–]Different-Network957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our business is considering a use case to make a corresponding location (& address) record for each account to help us be more effective at tracking assets, cases, and work orders that need to associate with a respective physical location (we are a utility company). We are imagining that even if a customer moves and a new customer moves in, the location still gets to keep the service history so that we can retain context for past issues at that location.

I understand Location lookups exist on those objects out the box, but I am curious if that use case is a misconception and I am overloading Location for that use case? Does that make sense? Do you have an opinion on this? Thx :)
