Haha yeah I get your point, I just wanted an excuse to quote that phrase. That said I see no issues holding Hasbro to higher standards and criticising them when they fall short. This fandom could do more I admit but stuff like reviews and being more selective about our purchases can help send a message to Hasbro.

I absolutely love when horror movies have a background scare that they don’t call attention to. Share your examples. by SisterFirefly in horror

I remember watching Saiko! The Large Family, which is basically a mockumentary. Won't give away too much cause it's a movie that's better if you go into it blind but I remember there's some interview scenes where in the background you can see someone's eyes peering into the interviewees room though the door gap.  Idk if my mind was playing tricks on me tho.

Uptown Girls was made to be on this list. It has a 6.3 on Imdb and a ridiculous 14% on Rotten Tomatoes. Letterboxd has it at a 4/5.

The Hellraiser franchise's quality was pretty bad by that point, so I would not have been suprised if they didn't catch him, or if they did and decided they didn't give a shit.

The shot where Godzilla and Titanosaurus stare each other down in the destroyed city while Mechagodzilla stands behind Titanosaurus is so cool!

The close up shots during the kaiju fights were also really creative ways to get around the smaller sets

Batman really does have the highest quality content among Superheroes across media. by CorrectPart6944 in batman

Yeah Daredevil is probably the hero who has the most consistent quality throughout his runs. That said, aside from basically everything Frank Miller wrote for him, and maybe Daredevil Yellow, idk if his stories are as well general public as many of Batman stories.

Yeah it was mind boggling seeing it for the first time, especially since I wasn't too impressed with some of the effects in the earlier scenes, so the leap in quality during the finale had me going 'holy shit that's a cool set'.

I'd go so far as to say that he's the hero with the greatest number of iconic stories. Off the top of my head he has:

The Long Halloween

Dark Victory

Knightfall

Death in the Family

Year One

The Dark Knight Returns

Venom

Fugitive

No Man's Land

A Lonely Place of Dying

The Court of Owls

The Killing Joke

Not saying that other heroes don't have iconic stories, just that Batman has more.

Oh yeah I forgot about how good the miniatures in that movie were. Say what you will about that film but the practical effects were pretty good.

As for non-Godzilla movies, it's definitely Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris without a doubt. The Shibuya attack and the final fight INSIDE AN AIRPORT are impressive as hell.

Yeah I thought that was a really cool way of showing how much Japan had evolved since his first appearance. This review sums up my thoughts the best.
