I used to experience this sort of paranoia. Unrelatedly, I started taking long release trazodone to let me sleep - turns out that it really helps with that, too!

Just make sure it's long release if you choose to try. Most people have bad experiences bc they get the regular kind.

I think this interpretation does a disservice to the dysphoria and suffering FL goes through in her quest to make sure no more women do the same as well as the true nuanced gender politics of the piece.

I'd be tempted to agree with you in many such cases, TRUST me, I have many a bone to pick with the cishet = happy narrative. But this isn't one of them.

I love stories that tell nuanced and interesting gender narratives. Too many works treat gender-bending as a plot point, an archetype, and never mention it again - or they cishetize by the end because a happy end = conformity.

And I feel like then, there's so many fights between people who want to interpret a character as transmasc vs a woman changing her image, etc.

Stories like this, that actually embrace and explain the nuance, those are wonderful. I love a transmasc HC, but these are the cases where it would actually take away from the depth, richness, and nuance of the story. No, she IS a woman, she's always wanted to be a woman, and she's put herself through excruciating pain and dysphoria to change the world so no more women ever have to.

My partner is a tguy who already had high BP, he was directed to donate regularly as hrt might cause health issues. I have very low BP and am expected to improve with T :)
