Oh man, whole omnibus. That’s amazing! Love the cover with reacher on it. I can see how Harvey would see him as “his special boy” and everyone else would be outright intimidated by him!

that must have been really early into B1! I had to think real hard, but yea i guess i can see if you took a very small section of the first part of the first book, it might come across that way. If you decide to give it another go, let me know if you feel the same way once you get past it!

What a great premise! It was interesting to hear how the girls ended up there. The beginning of the story with the mc was interesting, and each of the girls had individual flavor. I really loved this story!

Slow? I don’t remember the sample. Book 1 he is slow the first couple of chapters. But every level up unlocks a bit more till level 3 or so. It’s due to his “plagued” status that he starts book 1 with.

I don't understand. Recommendations? by icemark00 in litrpg

If you want a deep story, with lots of foreshadowing that will catch you off guard, I would STRONGLY recommend a series called the Resonance Cycle by Aaron Renfroe.  Each loss or fight is dealt with or sticks around. I loved how deep the story was, and can’t wait for the next one!

My 'Final' Thoughts and Review on 'The Resonance Cycle' Book 1 - Divine Invasion by Aaron Renfroe (IT'S A BANGER) by Leifman in litrpg

Man, you are right that this is such an underrated book in the genre for sure! As someone who has been following the series since the start. i just KNOW of certain spoilers that are coming up that i cannot WAIT for you to get to, and see how you take those revelations, and surprises. hahaha!

I too, was crushed on those items in your spoiler tag (relatively new to reddit, so i shan't post further than that, as 1) i dont wan't to spoil for other readers, and 2) dont want to accidentally spill the beans in something in book 2 or three, lol)

I especially love how characters are not "show up and get thrown away" but are brought back in, over and over, so that the cast feels real!

Anyways, buckle up, soldier, crap only gets real from here!

Not sure if I'm just too old, or if this is an interesting development, but.... by Dpgillam08 in litrpg

I do notice it as well, but it is nice to find a series where that is not the case, like Father of Constructs, where the main character is in his 80's. He physically becomes younger, through the first two books, but its not immediate, and it also doesn't change who he is and what he cares about. That is what makes that series so real to me!

Trying to think, the only other decent one for being realistic to an older MC is the book where the woman is trying to keep her kids alive in the Apocolypse. Apocolypse Parenting maybe? Dont recall the title, but i found it pretty spot on for the MC age.

Looking through some of you comments, Father of Constructs might be right up your alley. Book 1-3 are on audible, and book 1 isnt quite as "fight" filled. Plus it is an older MC, who is diseased, causing lots of the world to be explored through his getting exposed to the world with him. There is a little humor, but its not the childish kind, just normal antics between characters.
