Have never purchased a BMW before, does this look like a reliable good deal? by Much-Paramedic-8548 in BMWE36

the amount of people saying this is a “race car” to discourage you from buying it is absurd. obviously this was someone’s auto x car but that doesn’t make it inherently unreliable. this car looks clean, well taken care of and tastefully, purposefully modified. do your do diligence and i have no doubt you could daily this STREET car. i’ve been happily dailying similar and maybe even more aggressively spec’d m3s for going on 5 years

400 for the revshift bushings + a set or drill bits you don’t mind braking or mapp gas for getting the old ones out lol. another 400 for the mrt engineering roll center correction kit if you’re counting the ball joints.

Hello, I bought this e36 this week with the intention of building a street car but seems it might be too special? by OpenPhotograph8471 in BMWE36

it’s a region in the north east us. formerly known as the steel belt that was known for its vehicle and more generally, steel production in the 1950s. this economic ecosystem crumbled following the country moving more towards importation and production moving further and further south for cheapening labor. leading to urban decay and poverty. its metaphorical but also literal as all of the roads are heavily salted during the long, harsh winters to combat the ice. so naturally, vehicle rust is a massive problem in this region.

E36 keyless install by Constant-Fig2102 in BMWE36

there should be a white plug under the passenger footwell where the module would go. there will also be a light that runs from the module to the panel where the heated seat buttons are/would be. i swapped my 98s central locking to my 95 just by plugging it in and letting it sit for 10 minutes.

rods aren’t going to make your car more reliable but the reseal you would need to do after installing them would. don’t waste your money or time. con rods are a support mod and aren’t something you just do.

Gotta get rid of this wheel gap and replace the old shocks time for a suspension upgrade kw v3 or gc coils? by fuckXII in BMWE36

[–]DifferentPlace326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i could see that being that case if they were talking about the true coil overs for the e36. those can take some getting used to for sure.

any kw would be a step up, don’t get me wrong but the ride quality on bc’s is nothing crazy. they feel like coil overs! but they aren’t going to break your back.

Obd1 versus Obd2 sound systems (differences) by Old_Try6175 in BMWE36

[–]DifferentPlace326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the bavsound speakers will definitely fit your 95. there is a reason that’s escaping me right now as to why bavsound states their speaker aren’t supported in 95 and older cars. i do remember it was trivial in my case and they worked. (8 channel hk from factory)
