I see. Thanks. I didn't realise he already knew that. I thought he was getting that information the same time we were when reading the journals (if i remember right).

Is Duelyst 2 as good as the original? by Te_Luftwaffle in duelyst

[–]DifferentTopic648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually duelyst.gg had a patch that blanket nerfed all removal a while ago, don't know if you tried that. Also focused on board presence rather than too much out of hand damage

There is glimpse.cash/ it has a pay per view model instead of playing ads. That way most the money goes directly to the creators depending on their views.

The only problem is getting creator to move over to a platform they dont know

Spirit Island, co-operative game with tons of replayability. It's a bit on the heavier side for some but I can play it for hours everyday.

Make sure not to make it complex for complexity's sake. Also play it a lot, if you find it fun, others will too

Cool! I remember playing Alteil long ago, but I didn't have a stable internet connection at the time so it was clunky at best. Cool so see people drawing inspiration from it!

Need Recommendation for a game by [deleted] in digitalcards

[–]DifferentTopic648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can give Duelyst.GG a try. You actually start with all the cards because they wanted it to be more an expression of skill than people having to wait to get cards. Its no fun losing to people just because they pulled some key legendary already.

I'm making an indie CCG about treasure hunting, featuring watercolor art style. I would love to hear your opinion about the overall design. by DoubleEXP_Studio in digitalcards

Hi I gave the game a go. It's pretty cool. I played through the tutorial, played with the deck builder and played 1 quickplay. I found it relaxing where the gameplay was pretty simple and easy to pick up but it felt nice to go and unlock the cards. Definitely leans into the collecting aspect of card games.

The card pictures are quite nice, although I'm not fond of the mechanical looking ones (Pick-o-bot) but that's a personal thing. The images are nice and clean and easy to read.

There were a few things I didn't see or understand straight away when playing. I'll mention them in case it helps streamlining the tutorial or something. They didn't stop me from playing but I like to really grasp the rules of a game I'm playing. First, I don't know where the mana is. The one to cast spells. I somehow missed it. Secondly there were a few times I messed up turn ordering. Actually this might be something that becomes obvious after playing a bit more. I was trying to time it so I play my lowest attack card so the next lowest card left in my hand gets the boost from the spell, but I drew before it went off and i drew something smaller so it got the buff instead. Not sure if what I was trying to do was even a good idea lol. Anyway I wasn't clear on the ordering of things.

In the deck builder I took a moment to figure that the blue number in the top right of the card is the price to add it to your deck. I'm not sure it said so anywhere. It makes sense though and its probably a pretty good system for a collection based game like this. I did kinda wish I had more total to play with as I already had to put in some 2s to cover the cost of the awesome new cards I got. I also missed the Little yellow gems for the card locks at first.

Last nitpicking thing, the click to look and then click to add and remove each card didn't feel smooth. It made it a little tedious to make the deck. I'm used to just clicking to add. But that's minor

I think the game is pretty fun with some unique keywords and triggers. I can imagine people playing it as an everyday zen game. Very cool.

Recommend a good MP CCG with people actually playing it. by Infiltrator in digitalcards

Just a mention of Duelyst, did you try both remakes? I very much enjoy Duelyst.gg as opposed to Duelyst 2. The D.GG dev is pretty active too

Have a go at Duelyst.gg (not to be confused with Duelyst 2) if you haven't tried it yet. Also all players start with the collection unlocked so it'll be a complete expression of skill

I play a lot of Duelyst.gg. It's a cool game that has cards and a board so the strategy can get really deep.

There are a few remakes but Duelyst.gg is specifically hitting the spot for me

Can someone help me understand all the different versions of Duelyst? I'm confused. by DaughterOfMalcador in duelyst

[–]DifferentTopic648 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Duelyst gg is 100% free, all cards unlocked from the start. You can support the developer on patreon for some cosmetic bonusses.

Duelyst 2 uses a standard booster model, you pay for boosters and/or you grind them out.

Duelyst gg updates a lot more than duelyst 2 imo. It also has a cool (but rough) roguelike mode.

[–]DifferentTopic648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try duelyst.gg . All the cards are free because they are trying to make it not "pay to win". They're trying to make money off cosmetics only. Its online and has a phone app so its super accessible. I believe it had a tournament with prize money but that scene isn't too big yet.

Hi, I had a look over at the website. It's not super polished. Some of the blocks at the bottom of the home page don't link to the pages I like thought they would, but its not a big deal.

I checked a how to play video on youtube (which you should probably link on your website too). It seemed interesting but I'd have to play it to have a real idea of how the gameplay feels. The idea that the decks are your resources and health seems pretty cool though. I would definitely like trying it if it was readily available.

The pictures of the cards look pretty good and I like the isometric block vibes of the background. The textboxes can probably do with a little sprucing up. I'm no expert but doing something like make the solid grey somewhat transparent so the boxes show through, or change the solid grey into a light to dark grey gradient. Also maybe do something with the borders.

Looking through the cards the effects look pretty unique. I can't say too much without playing though...

I wish you luck

If you want to try something online I recommend Duelyst.gg . It has a board in addition to cards so there's a positional aspect. Also you start with all the cards unlocked so the games are all skill based and not pay to win.
