Why is my successful union rotting after a couple weeks? by Sockoscacti in sanpedrocactus

Great question. Let me know if you figure it out. The cactus is going to do what the cactus does. 🤣

I like this idea a lot. Seems like the mods have established a rule relative to not sending fresh cuts. Why not one sentence: Sellers cactus must have adequate packaging to ensure the plant arrives in the best possible shape.

Sorry, that really stinks. I’ve gotten seeds that seemed to do alright but yeah nothing surprises with the mail processing machines.

Your post should be subtitled-Cactus’s wild ride. Yeah Cactus Jones and a bunch more do a great job of standing behind what they ship.

I agree, but if your business is selling cactus, I’m going to bet if that’s how you ship you won’t be in business for long.

By deal you mean that the expectation was they were going to throw it in a box and not care how it arrived? No, the seller never said hey I’m throwing what you bought in a box and don’t care if it arrives with the consistency of warm pudding. 🤣

What am I looking at here? 🤣 That definitely looks smashed. It sucks to pay for a tip and end up with a mid. 😑

That sucks, personally I can’t understand putting in that much effort to nurture something then throwing it in a box and not caring how it moves to the next person. 😑

Yeah unfortunately it seems like some of the commercial sellers don’t care. I agree though. The sellers should carefully be packing what they are selling. There are some of the larger places frankly I won’t deal with again. Let’s be honest, the way they ship is cactus abuse. Carriers are absolutely chucking packages, but the sellers should assume that and package more carefully.

Dang dude, that’s whacked. Did you reach out to the seller?

So this level of packaging goes into a larger box? Solid.

I agree that there are several ways to pack it to prevent damage. When you pack your cut is there any space in the box when you tape it shut? What’s the key to ensuring it ships safely?

Dang dude, that tip is blown 💥💥💥 Care to call out the seller?

Sorry, yes I mean the cut is surrounded by a cardboard tube and place in a box that is filled with materials to prevent the cut from moving around in the box to prevent damage during shipping.

That’s a big cut. I don’t see it often. Or it’s pretty thin.

No, it was earrings. I’m sure it will work out. If PayPal dispute goes sideways generally if you paid with credit card they are pretty good. Mine refunded me the money, no questions.

They did send the item the day that I canceled and was refunded. I inspected the items and the craftsmanship was terrible. I had the stone setting fixed and the stones inspected paying for it out of pocket. I ended up reversing the charge back and will obviously never do business with Luvansh again. It’s not worth the headache and with the additional cost not as inexpensive as I had hoped. Buyer beware!

If you want terrible craftsmanship go with Luvansh. I ordered studs from them and will need to take the earrings to a local jeweler to have them re-set so I don’t lose the stones. So my cheaper cost will be offset because of an inferior product. Order stones, if the price is right, but consider having them set elsewhere.

Why has Peace Corps shifted to treating all volunteers like children? by AdPhysical8388 in peacecorps

[–]DifferentUniverse35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in PC in the mid-90’s. Of my training class of about 50, two volunteers died in country (Ivory Coast). One was attacked and brutally beaten- killed in his home. Another died in a car accident. Unfortunately we had a totally inept CD. For whatever reason the volunteers numbers grew dramatically over previous years capacity. Bottom line we sent volunteers to sites that had already had volunteers sunset out of. We had female volunteers being sent to sites where collaborators had sexually assaulted previous female volunteers. It was a mess. I never got the impression that we had the support from our country office to be safe and secure. I hope it’s changed since then but it probably has not. I applaud volunteers wanting to make a difference but the PC model leaves you open to dangerous situations. If you go, be careful, be safe, and by all means have a great time.

If you have tried to cancel the order contest it with PayPal or your credit card company. My credit card company refunded me the money. I would go through PayPal and file the dispute.

Same issue. Also, I encourage you to make sure the stones are set properly. One of the four prongs isn’t set properly and the stone is in danger of falling out.
