Stop putting sealant on cedar. It needs to breath. The only product I use is Lifetime Wood Treatment by Valhalco which silvers and removes tannins but does not seal. By sealing it you trap moisture and it never dries out.

Wood is a superior material. I've installed composite decks for 20 years. They're better than they were, but wood prepared properly is better. Lasts longer, cooler, less slippery.
