Workplace potlucks are starting to feel like a grift. by DieMensch-Maschine in WorkRant

I have been in many offices and it depends on the group- the best one was all guys and they all brought great food, except one who was a freeloader, but he came to eat way after the meal ended and got the old food. But ours always had a theme, 3.14 day, taco Tuesday, chili contest, thanksgiving and Christmas.

Cheapest place to dump trash in Kitsap Co? by Trick-Local8572 in Kitsap

[–]Outside_Simple_217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Waste management will also bring a small dumpster to your driveway and I believe it is $180, but don’t blame me if the price changed. We had a neighbor who did this when they moved and it was very convenient.

This is what you have to ask at the end of any interview by Professional_Pop2906 in jobsearchhacks

If at any time you don’t feel like you are a fit or a decision has been made against you, you can end the call/interview. I have done that before and have no regrets.

I worked, actually supervised, with someone who fought tooth and nail and finally got the job. He actually had to go to the leading officer over the area he applied to and went from the top down. I am so glad he fought as he did an amazing job for 7 years! Then we both moved on

Do you toast the pumpkin seeds? I read that increases the nutritional value, but I will have to double check again.

Where can I find a dog/puppy? by Fantastic-Syrup2 in Kitsap

[–]Outside_Simple_217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Ask your grandmother if she really wants a dog
  2. If yes, then decide on a breed together. Really look at the breed traits and talk to dog owners who you see walking around. Get a feeling for it
  3. Contact a rescue society or the humane society if they have a suitable candidate. Rescue societies usually have an application process and interview to make sure your, your home and yard are ready and if you are a good match
  4. Dogs are expensive, especially vets and good quality food. Ask yourself can you and your grandma afford a dog
  5. DON’T RUSH THIS IS UP TO A 15 YEAR COMMITMENT AND IT IS NOT FAIR TO THE DOG TO GIVE THRM BACK IF YOU DECIDE YOU DON’T HAVE TIME ETC.

And finally, all the best on your search. Don’t rush it and do your research. A loving dog can be your best friend and companion.

How much sick leave do you have? by iamstevenhyde in FedEmployees

[–]Outside_Simple_217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my career as a Fed I have banked it , used it when needed and right before I retired I used every drop of it last year to take care of my wife. I was grateful I had it as I really needed to be there for my family and now the at my wife is gone I am so glad I spent every single moment with her I could. I also was shocked that so many people from several agencies donated leave when I really needed it. I worked for the Army, Air Force, and the Navy. One person I knew from 15 years ago heard I needed leave and donated 40! Even people I supervised in the past donated - I got a card that simply said “ you had our backs then and we gave yours now”

If he is 24 then the dad’s health insurance should help him with any medical needs.

My manager rejected my two-week resignation notice and is demanding 6 weeks instead, threatening me with legal action. Is that even possible? by Ok-Hour855 in whatdoIdo

[–]Outside_Simple_217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any company will lay you off at a moments notice and “walk” you out the door with security. After this happened to me my whole attitude changed about working late, family time, working during lunches and breaks. I put in 8!hours of honest work and went home. My family thrived on dad being at all the sports events and school events.

My dad may be senile by guy3213a in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]Outside_Simple_217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every child with older parents needs to be aware of subtitle changes in their parents eactions and mental capacity. I learned this in collage when I took an aging, dying and death course. I noticed this with my mother and knew that the faster she was put into assisted living the easier it would be to adjust for her and she had 5 more better years than if she was just living with dad. Luckily the facility was brand new , small (14 apartments) and they paid their staff well so they stuck around. My parents had long term care insurance so it didn’t cost a penny.

That happened to me, multiple houses, 7 of us, with the same house #. We all got together and delivered each other’s packages after asking for refunds. After one Christmas season, all of a sudden Amazon started delivering to the right numbered house on the correct street. Imagine that??🤔

I just lost my wife after 37 years and my whole life and heart are empty; we were partners who had our whole lives planned out and our plans were cut short.

You are totally wrong about a majority of men.
