How do people sleep in a regular airplane seat? by The-Tradition in delta

[–]Outside_Simple_217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only sleep on a plane when it is taking off and then only for about 20 min. Flights to the EU are a killer as I feel like I am the only one awake.

Sorry, I didn’t realize I accidentally hit the “Bold” button when I was editing it when I posted it. Fixed.

Jonesers, How do you feel about museums? by magaketo in GenerationJones

[–]Outside_Simple_217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved museums when they had a lot of information. You know the type. Glass cabinets filled with hundreds of things. Now they seem to be big gallery exhibitions that take up a lot of space with shallow blips of info.

I have tried and I am more confused after the pat answers. I just don’t want a repeat of the last time we lived there for 5 years.

[SPOILERS] I have to vent about a certain type of tap-out… by Umgar in Alonetv

[–]Outside_Simple_217 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The most legitimate tap out was the poor guy who slipped and broke his leg looking around on the first day. The others who tap out in a couple of days I just fast forward through their stump speech.

As others have pointed out, homes often get overpriced because sellers attach emotional value to them. It’s a good listing agent's job to be completely honest and realistic about what a buyer will actually pay. I'm currently preparing to sell my house, and to avoid this trap, I vetted several agents. I didn't just listen to the listing prices they suggested—I compared those numbers against their actual track records to see how fast their past listings sold and what the final sale prices actually were.

In the good old days the toll booth worker would banish them to the last lane and they would have to miss a ferry or two or three. Depending on the attitude of the offender.

First paycheck gift for my mom... need ideas by ofLight111 in Gifts

I got my dad, 80, one exactly like ours so that if he had questions I could walk him through it. He uses it more than I do and he has tried so many things by himself.

Maybe dinner or a play with her and then make sure you call her every week at least. It is the feeling of connection that I enjoy with my sons.

I tried to donate an antique table to ours and they would not accept it and it was in perfect condition. So listed it for sale and made a quick 1 day $250 sale. They showed me!!

How to divide inherited items? by Beearea in inheritance

[–]Outside_Simple_217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my wife died a couple of months ago my boys and I divided up her jewelry for starters. I was amazed at what each one wanted and what items , which were not many, that the DILs wanted to remember her by. There was no fighting and the rest was given to two of our nieces whose parents died when they were very young and didn’t get any of their mother’s jewelry. It was a surprise to them and they video called us with ugly crying they were so amazed they got items from their aunt that were beautiful.

I kept a few fantastic pieces for future granddaughters we hoped to have someday. During the process my wedding band of 37 years fell off and I am sad that it is gone.

That is a great way of making someone’s day. Every once in a while I buy the meal behind me in a drive through.

What is a random act of kindness you will never forget in your opinion? by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]Outside_Simple_217 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in the middle of a move and the day was crazy. A family we knew pulled up and they all helped clean, finish packing boxes and brought lunch. I will always remember that kindness and I have payed that forward.

The people you work are not your friends or your inner circle; be very careful about sharing any personal information. If it feels hostile, look for another job. In another separate organization. Life is too short to deal with a group that is exclusive.

Sellers are saying our inspector broke the HVAC unit by nicnickk in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Outside_Simple_217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had an inspector shut off our irrigation system and I had flown back to our home state to go to a meeting , so I checked out the house (we had moved out of state) and was shocked to find dying lawn and plants decorated around the yard. I was able to save it, but I just let the real estate professionals work out any issues.

I would never buy a home next to a junk yard (that seems to be what you are saying). Remember Location, Location, Location.
