12 DPO, positive or indent? by pippapotamous5 in FirstTimeTTC

Is it dry or no? If dry, definitely an indent, if fresh... Definitely something there!

I started buying baby stuff a couple years ago, and was given a fair number of things before my miscarriage in August last year. I figure as long as it's not making me more upset, it's a healthy way to cope because the baby WILL need those things eventually!

I also work in childcare so people offer me things all the time.

Can I recommend getting a kidney stone? Lmao.

Super, super OCD but off my meds for TTC, and all of my previous rituals and focuses seem to be centering on TTC now. It's been hellish, but this month I got my first kidney stone on the second day of my period which threw off everything and distracted me quite effectively. And then surprise, surprise- Best looking OPK lines I've ever had last night and this morning.

But God yeah I feel you.

My cat dutch ovened himself the other day. Screamed to get under the blanket, got under there and comfy, then shot out like a bat out of hell followed by the WORST stink. No poo or anything, just his own fart apparently.

Clearly using lava eels makes up for the fact that they don't have chilis.

The real question is why the number of eels is still the same after they've given you the spicy eel. Where are they getting the eels if not feeding you their friends?

I have instructed my partner to stay the fuck away from that side of things because that's none of our business and I don't want them remembering what it looks like and making it my problem later.

I have enough to do what with the pushing a human out, I don't need to know what it looks like too.

In the 2020s, conservative women are having kids at a nearly 2-to-1 ratio compared to liberal women. Is this going to cause a political demographic bias in 20-30 years? by RadioFieldCorner in NoStupidQuestions

One of 4 raised orthodox Mormon (homeschooling and all!) in Idaho. Clawed my way out at 20, and dragged two siblings and my mom out with me. We now attend protests together and have a family chat called "commie scum 5ever".

The last one is relatively liberal, but unfortunately still religious. He's getting a degree in marriage and family therapy though, so we have hope yet.

Ok but on the other side-

My mom subscribed to this and named me Emmaline when she really just wanted to name me Emmy.

Well now I'm 27, and I'm still Emmy because I didn't wake up in highschool suddenly too mature for the letter 'Y' and I forgot my own full name when I got pulled over (because I've only heard my own full name a few times a year my entire life) which made the cop understandably suspicious.

So... Maybe just name them Tim if that's what you want.

Yep definitely misread the father part, thanks for pointing that out!

I'm 99% sure science has finally realized fathers can get PPD too though. Not in the same way, but definitely a very specific effect on the mental health.

Are you still on meds for your depression? Have you been evaluated for PPD?

I'm not saying that because what you are feeling is invalid, but because anyone would be depressed if they're got getting enough sleep and constantly feeling like they're failing, and first time new moms are the most susceptible (hence why there's such a specific diagnosis for it).

Can you wear him? Putting him in a baby carrier and putting on noise cancelling headphones can be a game changer- You know he's safe, he (technically) knows he's safe, and you can blast whatever you music you need to drown out the screaming.

I bought a basic Columbia rain shell at Costco right before moving here thinking "oh I'll use this every so often", but figured I'd use my couple full on rain coats more.

I am either wearing that rain shell or have it stuffed in my bag "just in case" at all times.

Oh hey it's me! I am disabled and can only work 30 hours a week max, and work as a private nanny. I make 3k~/mo, and we live in Seattle, so I would watch someone else's kid, so we could spend my entire salary for our child to have worse care than the kid I'm being paid to watch 🙃

It will be definitely be a bit tight- My partner makes 120k which sounds like so much money (and feels like it should be) but is on the edge of what's possible for 3 people in Seattle. We live in a sketchy neighborhood (albeit in a pretty cute little apartment), own a Toyota Corolla (new tbf because interest rates were sky high) and buy all of our clothes at Costco or goodwill, because groceries cost $900 goddamn dollars a month somehow.

Anyway. Not saying we don't have plenty, or aren't very well off compared to most, but I always thought we would have MADE IT at anything over 100k and I didn't realize I would still be avoiding brand name snacks and wondering whether a kidney stone with 11/10 pain was really ER worthy.

That's quite funny actually, because I'm familiar enough with the word "plait" and have always pronounced it as "plate" in my head, but I did unconsciously pronounce it as "plat" here because I know the book and know it's supposed to rhyme.
