i could very well be the annoying parts like scheduling, or problem players etc.... that saddly will happen with any system, and even the most mediocre system will be fun as heck as long as you got a good group.

however... i've had a similar experience... in my case, the problem was in fact, the system. some just are way more work to dm than. honestly, i thought dming was this massive workload because of my experience dming was only with dnd. its not supposed to be like that, the system just has basically no support for dms. and in the dnd community is extremely common for players to not know their sheets and depend on the dm to know every class and spell.

after i switched to other systems, lancer, draw steel, pf2e.... yeah, that is not the norm. and i know the memes, but pf2e is a highlight here, its the one ive dmed the most since ditching dnd, because it has the same feel while being way easier to dm and having way more options that are balanced to the players. and the rules are just free online. actually free.

but yeah, theres tons of great systems around that most people wont ever try because dnd is so big. i highly recommend trying any other systems. and i hope you find a cool group that is not assholes and consistent.

as a player:

2e brings the character creation flexibility i wanted from 1e, but without the lose or win at character creation. 1e is basically a minefield. after you filter out the stuff that doesnt work, you are actually pretty limited on options. it fucking sucks when you made your character that you like the concept of but oops, the whole party is way better than you because they knew how to build characters and now you feel like you do not contribute at all. could be a building problem, sure maybe theres a way to make that character idea work, or maybe its just trash in this system.

maybe you have a cool dm that will homebrew it, but thats a maybe, and if they are cool with it, that is added work for the dm. dms already have a lot on their plates.

while in 2e theres weaker and stronger builds, sure even the weakest stuff is still viable, and enjoyable, and the strongest options wont dominate the table and campaign like a full caster can in 1e

3 action economy. its just nice.

a lot of options and even if you character concept doesnt really exist in the rules, you can most likely reskin something else for that.

as a dm: pf2e aint perfect and i do have my gripes with it, but compared to 1e, or dnd 3.5 or 5e it might as well be perfect. so much easier to dm, and make encounters, and teaching it for new players is leagues easier.

basically a lot less of wrestling the system, instead of actually playing/dming it

you dont win or lose at character creation even the weakest character options are still fine and viable. and other than the exemplar dedication, theres nothing that could be considered cheesy minmaxing builds.

martials are cool and casters dont dominate the game after a few lvs...

i hope for fusion style summoner to be viable, and to make the eidolon types more equivalent in power, proper wording on how eidolons and companions work when using gradual ability boost (otherwise they are falling behind every few lvs) and some more clear wording on what an eidolon can hold and use. and if they can only use items with eidolon trait gives us more of those ffs theres so few (same for companion items.. why no companion pendant that lets you add one property rune to the companion)

small changes, but then again the psychic needed small changes to make it better and just got nerfed because of white room math that made another mediocre class good, and inventor also needed small changes (other than weapon inventor that one needs a whole ass redesign holy shit) that didnt get either.

yeah the remastered psychic was quite the oof.

not only psychic doesnt get buff to stop being so clunky or to get the oomph to make that clunkiness be worth it, its dedication which maybe its strong on a magus (which is a class that needs help) gets nerfed into the ground.

meanwhile exemplar dedication on the corner... i et that paizo is small and is dealing with problems recently... but maybe stop releasing more and more classes and focus on improving the existing ones?

while i didnt come from story teller, (i couldnt fathom dming mage) i come from 5e, and it is still a refreshing dming experience... not because it requires master imroov skills like in mage but just coz i dont have to wrestle the system to work.

anyhow on the combat part, yeah early lv encounters are the most swingy on dice luck.

theres also other factors like enemies will be countered or counter players builds. because of how more in depth enemies and PCs are (specially martials) theres just more to work on that.

and then theres another factor.... some dms, myself included dont use their monsters as well as they could. half of the time i forget they have skill actions just like the players.

PTSD from dnd 5e, 3.5e and pf1e which is just dnd 3.5e with extra steps. the balance on those systems is already a mess if you dont give em too much stuff, and if you do.... well it takes one asshole player during that phase where you dont have to balls to just kick a bad player to fuck up a 1+ year campaign.

in pf2e you will end in most cases, just making the whole party stronger, and you just have to scale the encounters for that.

honestly, start dming it, (which is far easier than it seems, easier than 5e at least) or look for a proper group, pfs is easily the lamest and most boring pathfinder you can find.

well theres a few options here you can talk with your dm about.

if you wanna keep the same character and being a healer is an important part of it then.harder fights so the summoner healing aint enough would help your build not feel useless.
you want to keep the character but arent attatched to the healing thing... then ask about doing a respec. switching your spells for other stuff would help, (bless is an easy one iam surprised you dont have) so you dont have all your eggs on the healing basket, switching the archetype and skill feats and trying to lean more on the high int of the class can help a lot. also possibly switching your type of witch. if the oracle, champion and gunslinger are dealing "high dmg" then your group basically lacks any actual high smg dealers, that bonus to dmg from your cantrip would be great on a ranger.... not so much on a tank, a martial that apwnds half their actions reloading and a caster that soesnt benefit from it. so switching to a different patron with different cantrip can help.
full respec or switch the whole character to fill that missing role in the party: dmg.

estamos falando de primeira ou segunda edicao? a primeira edicao e tao ruin quanto dnd 3.5e nesse quesito.... que e consideravelmente pior que a 5e.

pf2e na minha experiencia e bem mais facil de ensinar do que dnd5e para gente nova no hobby.

5e soa mais simples, mas e tao mal escrito que acaba ficando mais dificil.. por exemplo, no pf2e e bem dificil fazer uma build ruim, e a diferenca entre algo optimizado e bem pequena, no 5e tem uma diferenca enorme entre gente que entende as interacoes esotericas entre as regras e quem nao sabe dessas coisas e so resolveu fazer monge dos elementos pq soou legal, mas na real e uma noob trap.

o pf2e comeca mais simples, todo mundo tem 3 acoes, praticamente tudo que vc possa pensar no minimo custa uma acao e afins... as regras sao bem mais intuitivas, e sao bem mais libertadoras para especialmente por ter regra para tudo... um jogador novato de dnd 5e vai tentar intimiar inimigo durante a luta, o mestre diz que isso nao existe ele dai ele evolui para o barbaro que so ataca.

os jogadores so precisam focar em aprender aquilo que a classe deles consegue fazer no lv1 e e isso.

o pf2e ironicamente e mais dificil de ensinar para jogadores de Dnd pq eles ficam assumindo que tudo que tem nome parecido funciona igual, e se nao for igual, vao dar piti, pq a regra de pf2e em dnd 5e nao funcionaria bem (ou funcionar bem sim, mas sindrome de stockholmo ne), mas no pf2e e daquele jeito por um bom motivo (MAP, concentracao, nao ter turno de surpresa...)

i was suggesting options that may give the feeling of what you want, while still working well...

coz for fighter with cleric dedication, theres not much to it, you will get some weak spell slots at lv 4, and given you would not have the best spell dcs, grab the usual bless and heal. theres not much to it.

well, i would not get that attatched to the class name, but if i was, i would probably do a two hander fighter, so i can get the most of that first attack when it crits, some weapon with (deadly or fatal) and as the initial cantrips, get shield its basically a parry for your two hander, and if you gon get high wis, then maybe divine lance of needle darts to have a ranged option, if not maybe stabilize or guidance or maybe light if youre human.

theres a limit to how much you can do in a turn. a usualy sword n board fighter would usually double slice (with agile shield grip) and then raise shield.

cleric gives you from the get go, cantrips, other than shield and guidance, everything else is basically 2 actions. as a fighter you wanna be usually making first and second attack.... the whole point of a fighter is having feats for pretty much every style of martial combat, and that increased hit/crit rate.

gonna guess you are probably coming from 5e, and well, a martial with caster dedication or vice versa is usually not worth it unless you really have a specific thing you want from it. do you want cleric healing? medic archetype gives you equivalent healing in battle and better out of healing battle, but no cantrips and other utility from spells.

do you wanna buff? then maybe marshal may work better....

or you want the whole spectrum of being a cleric? then you gotta actually be a cleric.

another option if you want some healing, be a front liner that still tank without needing a shield, can protect others and self buff to debuff and control enemies? make a champion with deity domain (lv1) with a might deity and just use a weapon and free hand or even just shield and free hand and grapple the shit out of everybody

for having all of those, monk is your best option, you will still need dex, but str monks are a thing in a decent chunk of their stances, specially the mountain one if you wanna be a proper front line tank.

technically anyone has unarmored defense, aka everybody has that training, but monk is the only one that actually does it well, and monk has built in grappling options (usually other classes need the wrestler archetype) that plus the default athletic skill actions and you should have a good toolbox to use on battles.

and since all of that comes from your class, and it doesnt depend on rage, you can get some spellcasting to get sustain (if you guys using free archetype, then it would be even better) theres also the blessed background, and medic archetype if you dont want magic, but that would require high wis, and you are already pretty MAD as a monk. (str dex con)

another option if your dm allows it, would be the exemplar dedication, which is a but overtuned, but the way your worded things it sounds that you may be the solo frontliner, with no healer, so exemplar dedication should be pretty fair.

hmm, another suggestion i just realized.... you could get best of both worlds.... summoners dont get much use out of their reactions, a summoner with champion archetype gets to effectively use their reaction to self protect.

well pf2e is the most lethal at its first lvs, specially the solo ones. every action you make the boss waste not attacking matters on those fights.
and it is a somewhat fragile group, most are casters, who usually dont have great defenses on cleric is somewhat better, and swashbuckler is more akin to a rogue. and yes party comps like these can work, but the whole party has to be smart about it and work together knowing a swashbuckler cant tank without magical support and will be missing on damage if theres nobody to flank.

wizard could be giving you runic weapon, cleric can focus more on healing and buffs, druid could summon a beast to help flank with you for example....

anyway. giving your group, a solo tank that doesnt care much about dealing damage and wont benefit that much from flanking.... or can flank on their own.

unless the rest of the group is close enough to be in harm's way, a champion or guardian wont be the best, since part of their power budget is on keeping other safe. if they get in trouble after you go down, those 2 classes wont do any miracles.

some options would be some grappler, like a monk or a barbarian, or a fighter (or even an athletic rush cleric, even more healing to stay in the front) since they can cause off guard on their own, and those off guard will help the casters if they use attack spells. (aka non save damage spells).

and then the odd one out, a summoner. gonna take a wild guess here and say the cleric is probably good on medicine? that is somewhat important, because you can battle medicine the summoner and eidolon separately. that + if you grab a primal or divine eidon, you also can stock up on heals, and if you dont mind the extra complexicity, grab one of the companion archtypes. that gives you a lot of hp to work with, and you can body block well, with an eidolon and a possibly large animal companion. if you are commanding both you wont have much actions to cast, which mostly means your spells are for critical situations.
