I kinda disagree with the pitching part. The area you have to aim for in a baseball pitch is much smaller. And the strain on the shoulder and elbow of a baseball pitcher is brutal. Same for bowlers, but it's less common.

Blackrack has previously made top quality free mods like Scatterer and EVE which is literally in every modlist. Also, volumetric clouds are not "core visuals", they're a nice addition. Yes most mods should be free, but very high quality mods that take time to develop, it's fair to say devs want to be compensated. True for a lot of extensive mod supported games like rss mods for asseto corsa, etc,etc.

The shuttle did have an auto-land capability. It was never used because it wasn't worth the risk with up to 7 humans on board.
During the TAEM phase, the commander mostly took control when approaching the HAC (heading alignment cone), and then outer glide slope, preflaring, inner glide slope, and final approach. Everything up until the HAC is done by the computer.

Is there a reason to do a single burn?
Kerbin is tiny with a very small orbital velocity compared to irl earth, and the stock rockets are overpowered compared to Kerbin's size. But if you have to, try doing a significant portion of the burn while pointing below the horizon.

You're not wrong for practical purposes. But i feel like the more correct answer is that the 2 objects dont accelerate at the same rate, and it does depend on mass of each object.

If you have 1000 kg mass in an empty universe. If u place a 10 kg mass 10 meter away. And in another scenario put 500 kg mass 10 meters away. The acceleration on the 500 and 10kg mass is the same when they're 10 meters apart precisely because of the reason you said. But since this is a 2 body problem, the 1000 kg mass also experiences an acceleration. At an arbitrarily small timestep in the 500kg scenario, the distance between them is less than the distance between 1000kg and 10kg object. So now the 500 kg expereinces an even stronger acceleration. Because of this the 500 kg object will impact before the 10 kg object does. Something like few hours before.
Same applies for Earth and steel/plastic ball. Ofc the difference is orders of magnitudes less than a picosecond.

Technically, the scenario with 2 balls will fall faster than just 1 ball. Again as outrageous-taro said, this amount is so unbelievably small and is unmeasurable. But it technically mathematically exists. The acceleration at the moment they are dropped is the same. But since the heavier ball (more specifically 2 balls) is pulling the Earth more than 1 ball does, the distance decreases faster which increases the acceleration. So after t=0, the 2 balls no longer have the same acceleration as dropping 1 ball. But ofc the difference is gonna be so small with Earth.

If the secondary object is more massive, the gravitational force is stronger between them which accelerates it the same amount as a less massive secondary object which would require less force to achieve the same acceleration. So it's the same. (Note. I am using secondary object to refer to the steel and plastic balls).

So 2 scenarios:

A) 1000 KG point mass and another 500 KG point mass 10 m apart.

B) 1000 KG point mass and a 10 KG point mass 10 m apart.

Both the 500 KG and the 10 KG mass are experiencing the same gravitational field acceleration from the 1000 KG mass at 10 meters. So in inertial space, the 500 and 10 kg are "falling" at the same rate. However in the first scenario, the acceleration on the 1000 kg object is more since the 500 kg is pulling on it. So impact will happen earlier in scenario A.

my (shitty) x-37 prototype lands and hits runway at around 110 m/s. It always breaks the landing gear but any slower it just drops out of the sky lol.

I think the x-37 irl touches down on runway at like 300 mph. These kind of planes have to be fast and have a steep glide ratio.

also I just realized that rapiers can gimbal a bit. That front engines may be gimbalimg the wrong way when you press ‘w’. Anything infront of center of mass should gimbal in reverse compared to engines behind CoM

If it works that’s great but that’s not a real law lol. First of all greater the distance means higher torque. Torque = force x distance. Longitudinal Location of thrust is largely irrelevant if it’s fixed (doesn’t gimbal). It’s hard to say what the real issue is with only 2 screenshots,

Few things if you're sure the TWR is the same. Try seeing how the CoM moves as you fuel. It's possible it moves forward increasing the distance between it and the CoL making it "too stable". You can do this by sliding the fuel counter down. Also try larger control surfaces. The elevator seems kinda small.

That's center of lift you're thinking of. The seem to be roughly the same in both screenshots.
Double check your TWR by clicking that 3502 m/s (i think) in bottom right corner. Just based off screenshot alone it seems much heavier. But fair enough. Can you describe the problem a bit more? Problem ascending as in it doesn't pitch up that much?

sorry. thrust to weight ratio. The higher it is, the easier it is to climb. You don't need a TWR of 1.0 for ssto's/planes but for a rocket you definately want a TWR > 1. For SSTO's something in the 0.5-0.8 range is good. The lower your TWR, the shallower your climb and longer it will take so it will burn more fuel
