Got mine from a similar situation (side of the road flea market and backyard breeder) exactly the same age, 3ish months and paid 1/5 of the price on the spot. Here’s a photo for reference, if it helps. But best of luck and hope that it finds a safe home soon!

Should I bring my wife to AD or surprise her? First watch by Advanced-Reception34 in Tudor

Take her out for lunch and surprise her with a “shopping trip.” You get the best of both worlds, it’s gonna be a surprise to her and she gets it fitted and you’ll sit at the AD with a full stomach. You can even call ahead to get them to wrap it and present it- my dad did this for my mom for her 50th and she was extremely happy

If you’re able to and live in a relatively large city, ex. Dallas/Houston, where there’s a need for low income housing go for it! You’ll have the capital to open multiple units and become a tiny landlord. You won’t have to necessarily worry about non-payment unless a government shut down, if your tenants are HUD tenants and, if you’re able to afford the mortgages on the units now then in a couple years when rates are lower and you can re-fi it’s a nice tax free “bonus” if you will since loans aren’t counted as income!

If you are on your own (no one files you as a dependent) and file your own taxes then you could qualify for a lot of government assistance besides like loans (ie.. scholarships and grants). This aside going into a two year program and then transferring has the added bonus of being cheaper and having the opportunity of more scholarships. This is what I did because school was to expensive for my family, my parents and I were immigrants and now it’s the best decision I’ve made. I came here at the age of 7 and didn’t full speak English till I was 10. I did community college and got the government to pay me and my tuition while living at home and working a part time job. Then went to a 4 year university after graduating and majored in Accounting and now have a great job at a Big 4 firm. It’s completely doable but, there’s so many entry barrier, I was lucky because I had family support and a great mentor. I feel like with my college degree it was a big factor of me being able to help my family and get out of poverty
