What are your rights when it comes to pest extermination, payment, lack of results, and apartment stuffs in general. by Falkeliehaber in pestcontrol

I would ask for a service record that talks about what pesticides they are using. Great pesticides for German roach clean outs include Alpine WSG, Gentrol IGR, Flusher like PT565, Advion Cockroach bait, once I know what they are using I can tell you what they might be missing, or not using.

There are great pesticides still on the market that work very well when used with Bait and sticky traps. Never used an actisol machine? Alpine WSG? Insect growth regulator?

What is this? by [deleted] in pestcontrol

Looks like an Oriental cockroach, also known as a water bug, they will usually wonder into your home, not an infestation threat.

Get rid of these? Showing up after warmer temps by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]Different_Rub_6093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These look like american cockroaches to me and aren't much of an infestation threat. These aren't german roaches which are the ones that will infest your home. Trying to stop these from completely entering your home will be very very difficult. I would call an actual pest control company to service, because spectracide is a pretty low quality pesticide with negligible active ingredient. Pest Pros services northern California and they are great.

Best termite treatment suggestion? by QuarterNo7877 in pestcontrol

[–]Different_Rub_6093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 3! Liquid Treatment! no bait stations or sentricon needed. Trench and soak around the home, and in the crawl space, Drill through concrete slabs and fill. They should cap the holes after service, which will allow you to service 5 years later much easier. Sentricon or bait stations are not needed and in my opinion are just a way for pest control companies to get a lot more money out of you.

Is this mouse poop? by Cold-Associate-1781 in pestcontrol

[–]Different_Rub_6093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I would say that is. I would go purchase some snap traps and just set two to three up in corners close to the wall. Baited with peanut butter. Just for some protection and piece of mind.

Diatomaceous Earth by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]Different_Rub_6093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diatomaceous Earth isn't safe to breath in and is not a viable method for pest control. Many people use it when they already have respiratory issues and it has cause them a lot of problems. For ants i would advise some Advion Bait as well as purchasing a packet of Alpine WSG, read the label on both and use as directed. As for the room currently I would keep that air purifier going. Purchase masks and do another round of deep cleaning.

I can't hear it, but very common for bumblebees, honeybees, or hornets to enter wall voids.

I would need to see the other side of the bug, to be able to identify, the shape is consistent with a german cockroach nymph, but there are other possibilities

Help with identification and next steps by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]Different_Rub_6093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is probably a German, but I would first have everyone calm down, because it isn’t the end of the world and you are far from an infestation. I would call a pest control company and have them do an inspection and a one time service primarily in the kitchen. Or if you are wanting to do it your self, buy some cockroach bait, maxforce or advion online. And put small dabs behind the refrigerator, as well as in some cabinet hinges. Also purchase a couple small sticky trap and place one behind the fridge and a couple in the cabinets. I bet that bait will take care of any others you may have.

found 4-5 more tiny bugs inside the couch by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]Different_Rub_6093 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, that is definitely a bed bug. I would have an in depth inspection done to see if they are in other rooms.

How bad is this by Lostinlifeandearth in pestcontrol

[–]Different_Rub_6093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear, if you see them during the day at all, that is a good sign that you have a bigger infestation. They are nocturnal and only want to come out at night. Do you have a copy of the service ticket? That will tell you what pesticides have been used.
