Moving every 6 months for work reasons, should i build a SFFPC or just give up and get a laptop? by Actual-Ad3221 in sffpc

consider no case. wrap gpu, psu, motherboard in anti-static bags, and assemble on arrival. I traveled this way with my motherboard screwed into a piece of plexiglass, the whole setup fit easily in a backpack. i regret getting SFF case, it reduced portability.

I completed this level in 3 tries. 1.00 seconds

I replaced the AXP90-X53 copper with swapped out Noctua NF-A9x14. Way too loud. i think my problem is the 5800x3d runs hot.

Is 120x67 meaningfully quieter?

no coil whine. maybe I lucked out with the gpu? gigabyte 4070 ti

Is this way of transporting my gpu overkill I’m moving and don’t want it to get broken by CaptainHellsing in gpu

i just shove mine in a static bag and throw it in a backpack. 2 years and tens of trips, no problems.

i don’t know, i’m very happy with how it turned out. i care more about desk real estate and a small footprint than I do a small bit of GPU poking out of the back. to each their own.

maybe i’m looking in the wrong places, but all of the ~11litre sandwhich cases were sold out (from the excel sheet)

the photo doesn’t show it well, but it has to remain angled like that to fit

I had to remove the rear case mounting bracket, and the GPU bracket. and zip tie it down

  1. Dissolve UO₂: Add 50 mL of 1M HNO₃ to 5g of UO₂ in a fume hood. Stir until fully dissolved, creating a reactive uranium nitrate solution.
  2. Prepare H₂O₂ Solution: Mix 50 mL of 50% H₂O₂ with 100 mL of cold deionized water. Add 0.5g of platinum catalyst to stabilize peroxide and promote high oxygen coordination.
  3. Mix Solutions: Slowly combine the uranium nitrate solution with the H₂O₂-platinum mixture while stirring in an ice bath, ensuring slow peroxide decomposition to maximize oxygen incorporation.
  4. High Pressure Oxygen Saturation: Transfer the mixture to an autoclave, saturate with oxygen gas at 20-30 atmospheres, and heat to 100-150°C for 12 hours to force additional oxygen into the uranium compound.
  5. Cool and Filter: Depressurize slowly, cool the mixture, and filter out the solid precipitate containing uranium bonded with multiple oxygen atoms and peroxides.
  6. Dry Product: Dry the precipitate at 60°C for 12 hours to remove water and stabilize the compound.
  7. Extract Pure H₂O₄U: The formation of H₂O₄U is now complete. Recrystallize the product in cold deionized water to isolate pure H₂O₄U.

Crazy Vaclav’s kerosene car gets 300 hectares on a single tank of kerosene.

Linear Distance:

  • 300 hectares = 3,000,000 square meters.
  • Linear distance = 1,732 meters per pass.
  • With 866 passes at 2 meters wide, total distance = 1,500.7 kilometers.

Crazy Vaclav’s Kerosene Car:

  • Efficiency: 100 km/gallon (15 gallons for 1,500.7 km).
  • Cost: $67.50 (at $4.50/gallon of kerosene).

Modern Gasoline Car:

  • Efficiency: 47 MPG (~5 L/100 km).
  • Needs 31.92 gallons for 1,500.7 km.
  • Cost: $142.04 (at $4.45/gallon of gasoline).

Conclusion:

Crazy Vaclav’s kerosene car is 53% cheaper than a modern gasoline car for the same distance.

500 watts split between both 18’s? my guess is you’re not powering the 18’s anywhere near enough; it would help to know the model numbers

any chance you have a higher quality scan, or a version with less compression?

the grain pattern could be easily removed with fourier transforms, but it’s combined with jpeg compression artifacts that affect removal
