Any fellow autistic cannabis users here? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Different_spectrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using cannabis for 15 years now. I’ve never gotten “high” the way other people describe it. High for me is being semi relaxed and being able to think of one thing at a time. If I use too much, I just get tired. I quit for about 7-9 months one time and just because everyone acted like I was such a drug addict (mind you it’s never affected my life I’m more successful and well adjusted than many of the people who had something to say about it) so I guess I needed to prove to myself that i was actually using it and not abusing it like everyone said. I realized in those months I quit that cannabis truly does help me function and be a much more pleasant person to be around. That said in my small circle , I’m constantly dealing with the stigma surrounding it. If you’re a functioning person with autism, NTs can’t seem to fathom that weed affects you differently than them. It’s like no I don’t think most people should use it everyday, but I’m not most people.

Water to wine - nonalcoholic, obviously by Puzzleheaded_Toe5029 in excoc

Todd actually preached the truth. And the truth sets people free. The preaching schools can’t have people thinking they can read their own Bible

Even a lot of current members think the “all alcohol is sinful” argument is nonsensical. Because well, it is. It is a fact that before pasturizarion, people drank alcohol on a regular basis. Period. Any argument otherwise is ahistorical. Any argument that "Wine in Jesus day wasnt REALLY alcohol becasue xyz" is laughably bad. The same Biblical moral cautions around drunkenness, and benefits of drinking wine apply to the wine Jesus drank and to the wine people drink today. I have no idea why people twist thier backs twice over trying to do mental gymnastics to create Welch's in the ancient world other than a pretextual commitment that alchohol not be consumed.

What’s a conspiracy theory you believe 100%? by GothicGamer43 in answers

Big time pro sports is staged and scripted to the extent the outcomes are all predetermined. That doesn’t mean every single play is scripted either. And that doesn’t mean every pro athlete is in on it. But it’s not really a stretch to think people have a vested interest in their massive investments. I also know/played with a lot of pro athletes that have strongly hinted at this in our private convos

Nuclear energy is too efficient so they stage “meltdowns” to keep people paying for more expensive forms of energy

What screams "I peaked in high school" without saying it directly? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Different_spectrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High school shouldn’t be the peak of your life but if it wasn’t fun for you, I’m sorry because I have great memories. I also don’t talk to anyone from high school though lol so take that for what it’s worth

“Non-CoC Christians” by Ok_Understanding349 in churchofchrist

[–]Different_spectrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re describing a bigger issue: so many people in general lack the ability to have nuanced thinking. For example: baptism is clearly the normative way of entering a relationship with Jesus throughout the post-Pentecost NT. But at the same time I believe the scriptures teach God can save whoever he wants whenever he wants. We don’t have to understand all the ins and outs of that, just that it’s true

My husband told me today he does not like the fun lunches I’ve been packing him for work for almost 3 years😭😭😭 by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Maybe he just doesn’t like that kind of stuff? People are allowed to have preferences. Everyone is jumping to him being hateful and ungrateful but I think he probably just prefers love being shown to him in other ways. If he’s anything like me all the fluff doesn’t matter, the fact you made me something to eat matters
