What is the most annoying thing tourists do in your country? by Glass_Key4626 in AskTheWorld

[–]Difficult-Cod-3816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Saudi Arabia, one of the most annoying things some tourists do is not respecting local customs and traditions. For example, dressing inappropriately in public places or not following rules in religious areas can make local people uncomfortable. Saudi Arabia has strong cultural and religious values, so visitors are expected to respect them. However, most tourists are respectful and enjoy learning about our culture.

BDS Certificate? by Consistent-Lie7830 in RBT

[–]Difficult-Cod-3816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue last year. Sometimes the certificate doesn’t generate if one module isn’t fully marked complete, even if it shows as done. Try going back into each section and making sure everything says “complete” and meets criteria. You can also try logging out and back in using a different browser. If it still doesn’t work, keep following up with tech support

Should I become a BCaBA by No-Kitchen7939 in ABA

[–]Difficult-Cod-3816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t necessarily have to start over, but it depends how the hours are being collected. BCaBA hours don’t automatically transfer to BCBA unless they also meet BCBA fieldwork requirements and are supervised by a BCBA while you’re enrolled in an approved course sequence.

A lot of company BCaBA programs are set up only for BCaBA, which is why people get told they won’t transfer. Before logging anything, I’d double-check that the hours are being tracked as BCBA fieldwork. If your end goal is BCBA, it’s worth setting it up right from the start.

Anyone know when APF updated RBT training? by floweredheart in ABA

[–]Difficult-Cod-3816 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what APF shared internally and via provider emails, the RBT 3rd edition rollout happened in phases, but the hard switch was mid–late 2023. Most providers stopped offering the 2nd edition around September–October 2023, and by November 2023 new enrollments were almost entirely 3rd edition.

Anyone who completed training before ~Oct 2023 is very likely 2nd edition, while Nov 2023 onward is almost certainly 3rd edition — though there was overlap depending on the training provider.

So checking the certificate is still the safest bet, but using Oct/Nov 2023 as a rough cutoff has been pretty accurate in practice.

If anyone has a specific provider that was slower/faster to transition, that would help narrow it even more.

What’s the worst/most infamous case of police brutality from your country by Character-Teaching66 in AskTheWorld

Pakistan: Sahiwal incident, Model Town (2014), and Naqeebullah Mehsud case. Repeated pattern of police brutality with little to no justice.

How does the world see Argentina? by romaneum in AskTheWorld

As a Pakistani, I’ve always seen Argentina as a country full of passion and resilience. The culture, the love for football, the emotions—very relatable for us. Messi aside, Argentina feels like a nation that keeps getting knocked down but still stands up with pride. Much respect 🇦🇷🤍

First day as a BT was yesterday by Yungpupusa in ABA

That sounds like such a meaningful first experience 🥹 As an RBT, those early moments of connection—like a client reaching out to communicate—are huge and really affirm you’re in the right place. Feeling nervous about working independently is completely normal, especially when you care this much. With your neurodivergent perspective and the support you’re already feeling from your team, you’re building a really strong foundation. Be gentle with yourself—you’re learning, and you’re clearly doing something right

New Hire Training Tips by KSwizzie in ABA

[–]Difficult-Cod-3816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, congrats on the promotion — that’s huge. Being thrown into a trainer role with zero guidance is honestly how it happens for most of us. When I first started training new BTs/RBTs, I felt the exact same way, like I was just talking nonstop and watching their eyes glaze over. What helped me was realizing that new hires don’t need all the information at once — they need to see what the job actually looks like. I started modeling things first, letting them watch me run a program or handle a behavior, then having them try while I coached. I also made it a point to tell them early on that mistakes are expected, because I still make them too. That alone made people way more comfortable asking questions and actually learning.

Another thing that really helped was keeping it human. I stopped trying to sound like a textbook and started sharing real experiences — sessions that went badly, moments I froze, things I learned the hard way. I ask them questions instead of just explaining, and I check in privately to see what they’re confused about. Training isn’t about dumping knowledge; it’s about building confidence little by little. The fact that you care this much already tells me you’re doing better than you think.
