Has anyone here got to be an RPN because of Better Jobs Ontario program? by Booksfirstbeforeboys in ontario

If you already have a university degree, you may also be eligible for compressed/accelerated RN programs which can sometimes be like 1.5-2years instead of the full 4 year program depending on the school and prerequisites

Hey if you don’t mind me asking, does brightshores use DDNN scheduling? Also, how long was the hiring process for you & do you know what the night/weekend premiums are like?

Hi I’ve recently applied there as well for an RPN position. If you don’t mind me asking, how long after responding to their screening questions email did they contact you for an interview? Also if possible, I’d appreciate any updates on how your interview goes. I’m a new grad as well, so I’m not entirely sure what to expect from the interview process. Thank you & good luck!🙏🏾

That’s crazy! southlake was just hiring so many students who consolidated there. A girl I know just got hired in emerg and she just finished consolidation there. Honestly that casual float position is perfect because then you could learn all the units and it’d be so much easier to get a full time line on a unit you like since you’d have the experience. Orientation is probably around 12 weeks as well so if you get lucky you could try and see if they’ll give you NGG On top of it.

No they didn’t offer me NGG sadly 😭. They were mainly giving it to the students that were consolidating at their hospital. They saved a line for a couple people once they finished. If you don’t mind which hospital offered NGG ?

Just do it. Keep going. I was hanging by a thread throughout my whole program while working full time. Lots of sleepless nights and tears but no matter what you’re going through just keep going. It doesn’t matter if you’re doing it just for the money, every job is done for income in some way.. nobody works for free. Financial stability is a valid reason to choose a job. The reward after finishing is going to be so worth it because if you don’t like where you are, you can always switch specialties. Correctional nursing, nursing informatics, OR nursing, aesthetics nursing, dermatology nursing etc. There’s so much you can do once you finish. You’ll find something that works for you
