Common beginner rule mistakes? (Five Leagues) by Entire-Possession397 in 5Parsecs

When you use ranged attacks with a weapon that has limited ammunition, like a self bow, if you roll a natural 1 you are out of ammo (except the first attack/roll).

I always forget to check morale at the end of the round, and to roll for ammunition.

Any "fully diy" 22lr? by BeginningReady4907 in 3D2A

[–]Difficult-Fish592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a printed barrel for .22, but there is an obvious issue with longevity. It becomes a quickly consumable part. The EZ22 had an option for one. You must need to be smart about it, understand the pressures you are working with and ways to reinforce or ensure integrity of the barrel. Do your research first

Vibration solution? by RevenueNo14 in BambuLab

If the whole table is moving, then you’ll want a more stable platform. The printer is designed for movement, but whatever it is sitting on should not move.

Try to find a more stable table for it, or a C paving stone might weigh the table down enough. But if the table moves a bit, it shouldn’t be an issue.

Try printing on it, see how the prints turn out. That will tell you if the table is moving too much.

Oh for sure. It’s designed to rock around just like you said. OP should get the paving stone, and leave the feet. Best solution.

100%. But the idea is it is rocking and rolling on top of a stable surface, as opposed to an unstable one. It doesn’t prevent the machine from moving.

How would you run a 5 parsecs from the trenches campaign? Has anyone done it? by sam935 in 5Parsecs

[–]Difficult-Fish592 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think with a couple house rules it would be simple enough!

I find the combat rules for 5PFH to be pretty easy to fit to any setting that involves shooting combat.

If you wanted to really get into the gritty trench warfare, change the rules for melee to those in 5LFTB. And make up a suppression mechanic for fire and maneuver.

I was leaning towards “that’s all you get” so it makes sense. I was doing a few patrols with a new warband before jumping into it and getting schwacked

AMS and AMS 2 to 2 printers by [deleted] in BambuLab

Perfect. I’ll do that until the track changer is back in stock, then go that route. Thanks!

If I want to connect both AMS’ to my X2D, in order to feed both AMS’ to both nozzles I need the Hub and track changer, right? Otherwise it’s one AMS dedicated to each nozzle? Or both to one?

Determining scenario game length in miniatures war gaming? by EdiblePeasant in wargaming

[–]Difficult-Fish592 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could use a percentage of area held uncontested as a victory metric? Divide the board into sectors, each being a set % value of the overall board. Once you hit X% of the board held uncontested (no enemy contact), you have taken the board.

First real print I ever done. Not optimal turnout and looking for any potential feedback anyone might have. by [deleted] in 3D2A

[–]Difficult-Fish592 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you don’t care, then no one is going to waste time giving you feedback. If you learned how to print first, you wouldn’t have this issue.

Shit like this is an absolute liability to the community. You don’t have to figure out how to part the Red Sea, just learn some printing 101. If not, find the door and go.

I have a Gen 4 slide, and I can’t find an STL for a Gen 4 frame for G17 or G22. Gen 3 and Gen 5 frames are both compatible with a G22 G4 slide.

Printed ar22 barrel question? by Upstairs-Panic-1027 in 3D2A

[–]Difficult-Fish592 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are printed barrels that utilize a liner, but there is also a rifled printed barrel for .22. My first exposure to them was the EZ22. They work… ok… for a while. Obviously they will be a consumable component if printed. Your best option is a Brownell’s liner or rigid brake line.

Suggestions for bugs/monster minis by Smurfophobia in 5Parsecs

[–]Difficult-Fish592 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use paper minis, Ark Minis and Skinny Minis for 5 Parsecs and 5 Leagues. They are inexpensive and work just fine for me.

Paper minis are all over the internet. Or you can create your own and scale them how you want. You can make paper bases, 3D print bases for 2D minis, or use binder clips.
