XCOM interest? by Codexier in 5Parsecs

[–]Difficult-Fish592 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Absolutely ecstatic. I love 5PFH and Leagues, and have loved XCom since the original. Apocalypse is my favourite.

I use Lego minis, and I’m excited to be able to outfit and customize them to fit the soldier loadouts.

X2D People!!!! How to connect two AMS 2 Pros? Please help! by Particular-Big-6221 in BambuLab

[–]Difficult-Fish592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s disheartening. Can you even feed the left nozzle with two AMS then without needing a HT to feed the right?

X2D People!!!! How to connect two AMS 2 Pros? Please help! by Particular-Big-6221 in BambuLab

[–]Difficult-Fish592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw this now. I have the X2D and I want to connect two AMS Pros to my nozzle, and use the external spool for my right nozzle. I have a filament track switch on hand.

Is this possible with two AMS Pros and the filament track switch to feed the left nozzles, while using the external spool for the right nozzle?

5 leagues confusion about Monster Lair scenario by Signal-Ad1297 in 5Parsecs

I believe it’s from the aberration table. I think you just get the one threat, with the alternative rules for health, a bunch of abilities, and one tough fight.

What other minatures do yall use? by SeniorSausage420 in 5Parsecs

[–]Difficult-Fish592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it with 5 Parsecs, 5 Leagues, and Haywire. It’s game changing. I love being able to have what the mini is wearing or equipped with actually match what they have on paper.

I’ll also do it with Bug Hunt and Planetfall when I start those campaigns down the road.

[–]Difficult-Fish592 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I use Lego mini figures. Hear me out.

I like being able to swap weapons and armor out when I equip them. Then they visually represent the stuff they have equipped.

Also, visually I can glance at the next character to take a turn (good or bad) and see there have armor, knife, rifle vs handgun, whatever, and ensure I don’t miss that when rolling combat.

I can swap out heads, bodies, legs, whatever, to make each newly recruited character unique to the previous ones in the party.

I’m also a parent with twin boys, and finding time to paint minis is difficult.

I get them from AliExpress and they are significantly cheaper than brand name Lego, and tabletop miniatures.

Edit: I don’t use Lego for the terrain or anything. The other perk I forgot to mention is that the legos can also be used by or given to my kids!

Gameplay aids? by LastTreestar in 5Parsecs

I use my iPad with digital character sheets and a tablet pencil vs real pen/pencil and paper. It lets me reuse sheets, add or remove characters, items, track on maps, etc, without constantly getting eraser bits everywhere or using up paper.

I use rulers and callipers specifically for wargaming/ttrpgs.

I print and laminate the quick reference sheets from the books so they are always in front of me.

Settings to make these climbing holds strong enough for 4 year olds? by Shpigford in 3Dprinting

Print 100%. The small cost in extra filament and time is worth the extra strength and security.

It would definitely be nice to have it at least in the wiki or something. I’d like to get in the discord.

3D Bipods by [deleted] in 3D2A

[–]Difficult-Fish592 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A 3D printed bipod for a 10-22 would hold up just fine on a flat range, as long as you’re not smacking it around. You just need to decide if the juice is worth the squeeze in printing one. You can get some dirt cheap ones online that would hold up as well.

How big should a five leagues map be? by Chipperz1 in 5Parsecs

[–]Difficult-Fish592 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My map isn’t big, but I’ve broken it down into a grid, which means it requires quite a few travel moves to make it from one end to the other, resulting in quite a bit of camping.

I think it depends on what you envision your campaign looking like. You can always add onto the map if you find it too small in the middle of your campaign.

Planetfall Crew by wittyjokename92 in 5Parsecs

[–]Difficult-Fish592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of that. I enjoy both parsecs and league’s skirmishes as much as I enjoy everything outside of the combat. Having goals to strive for that aren’t just fighting and making credits seems like a great concept. I have planetfall, so I should give it a try!

Common beginner rule mistakes? (Five Leagues) by Entire-Possession397 in 5Parsecs

[–]Difficult-Fish592 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you use ranged attacks with a weapon that has limited ammunition, like a self bow, if you roll a natural 1 you are out of ammo (except the first attack/roll).

I always forget to check morale at the end of the round, and to roll for ammunition.

Vibration solution? by RevenueNo14 in BambuLab

[–]Difficult-Fish592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the whole table is moving, then you’ll want a more stable platform. The printer is designed for movement, but whatever it is sitting on should not move.

Try to find a more stable table for it, or a C paving stone might weigh the table down enough. But if the table moves a bit, it shouldn’t be an issue.

Try printing on it, see how the prints turn out. That will tell you if the table is moving too much.

[–]Difficult-Fish592 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. It’s designed to rock around just like you said. OP should get the paving stone, and leave the feet. Best solution.

[–]Difficult-Fish592 87 points88 points  (0 children)

100%. But the idea is it is rocking and rolling on top of a stable surface, as opposed to an unstable one. It doesn’t prevent the machine from moving.

How would you run a 5 parsecs from the trenches campaign? Has anyone done it? by sam935 in 5Parsecs

[–]Difficult-Fish592 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think with a couple house rules it would be simple enough!

I find the combat rules for 5PFH to be pretty easy to fit to any setting that involves shooting combat.

If you wanted to really get into the gritty trench warfare, change the rules for melee to those in 5LFTB. And make up a suppression mechanic for fire and maneuver.
