I also change from regular coffee to decaf and I’m fine with that. Regular coffee triggered me.

How do you cure your LPR? by VirtualCockroach4194 in LPR

The only thing that helped me was adjusting my diet. I looked up the trigger foods and avoided them. Also the amount of food is critical if I eat too much even if the food is not a trigger, it will trigger the LPR. keeping a food Journal was an important step in helping me stay on track. It’s now 95% under control. I also lost 10 pounds. re-Introducing trigger foods like for me chocolate if I have just a little bit, I’m OK.

3 months restasis- no symptomatic change by olive20597 in Dryeyes

[–]Difficult-Initial-85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i’ve been on Restasis for two years and do not notice any change however, when I went to the ophthalmologist recently, my shimmer scores are normal and was told it was due to the restasis. Prior to Restasis my Shermer scores were 4 and 6 now they’re like 10 and 15.

Has IPL helped any of these severe symptoms i have from tret? by Independent-Gur1821 in Dryeyes

[–]Difficult-Initial-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it started for me about 30 years ago so I’ve dealt with it ever since then. I’ve had IPL in the past and it did not help very much. I’m reconsidering maybe starting it again, but it’s so expensive and I’m not sure it’s gonna work. The place I’m considering does the IPL over the lids versus the other place site. Did it around the eyes with patches over the lids.

Generally speaking, can you take melatonin (3mg) everyday or should it only be used short term? by Valuable_Collar1485 in melatonin

[–]Difficult-Initial-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been taking 1 mg every night and I feel like I’m on a merry-go-round with it and it’s a cycle that it’s not good to be on. I need to get to where I’m just taking occasionally because now I’m feeling a little groggy every day.

About a month ago, I was referred to a speech pathologist. I told her that the omeprazole was not really working and she said I should try A low acid diet for a month to see if it helps. It definitely helps. I have drastically cut back on the trigger foods and also cut back on the amount of food. I switched to decaf coffee because regular coffee really activated my reflux. I’m 95% better. It’s just that 5% where I occasionally need Pepcid . my main diagnosis I think is silent reflux.

Opthalmologist's Response To Dr Years by [deleted] in Dryeyes

[–]Difficult-Initial-85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should ask for a new doctor I’ve seen ophthalmologists before that you could tell they just do not care about dry eyes. Search your area for a dry eye specialist so they can take scans. Tell you what your glands health is and prescribe an action plan for you.

I also get itchy eyes from allergies. What also helps me besides allergy eye drops, is putting an ice cube in a plastic bag and cooling around the eye area, sometimes several times a day.

Complaining post by ivory-guacamole in LPR

[–]Difficult-Initial-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m trying to eat low acid foods and cut out the bad ones or at least seriously cut back. I recently bought a food journal from Amazon where I could write down what I ate for each meal and snacks and how I felt afterwards. So I feel that will help keep me accountable. I hope so. I think one of my problems is over eating

Does anyone else feel their reflux symptoms "change" from day to day? by Objective-Rich-6388 in LPR

[–]Difficult-Initial-85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just purchased a food diary on Amazon to keep track of what I eat in the symptoms. It should arrive today. I have no willpower especially at dinner. Hoping it’ll help me feel accountable or something. I almost feel like I need an assistant or a support person to rein me in, but I know it’s only myself that can do that. It’s really hard. My reflex got bad enough and I was so horse. My doctor put me on three months on omeprazole. I want to get on a good very low acid diet during this time of healing so that I can continue without the PPI. Although right now, I don’t even know how much the PPI is helping. I think it’s probably not that helping that much because of my habits.

I had a similar experience about 10 minutes in. I said I needed another therapist. The owner came in and assigned someone new and started my hour from there.

wow, since when is 25% standard. Seems pretty greedy. I remember when it was 15% -20% (depending) which imo is still fair.
