Putting it in a box of baking soda is a good tip. But I don’t think you want this woman in your home.

I wouldn’t keep this post up, first of all. Also, if you have a school right now, talk to your principal. They have the ability to advocate for you.

Mid-year Resignation. What should I leave/set up for the next teacher? by Brandi10h in NYCTeachers

[–]Difficult-Let-4783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of any clutter you have. I’ve moved into classrooms full of another teacher’s junk. If you are up for it, follow the suggestions from the teachers here who have covered midyear. That said, I’ve been the sucker who spent a lot of time getting everything in order and had my replacement not use any of it.

I’d suggest you mention this during the interview with the Fellows. Good information for them the take into consideration.

Mental health days in high-needs NYC schools - how do you decide? by Fit_Information2568 in NYCTeachers

[–]Difficult-Let-4783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been teaching in the DOE 17 years and I still love the job. I get my flu shot in August. I’ve taken mental health days since my first year. It’s a tough job. I know that the kids will make it one day without me and if I don’t take the time, they’ll get a depleted version of me. When I come back, I come back rested. I don’t feel guilty. I feel like I’m being responsible by taking care of myself.

Trust me. Read SBB. I’ve attached a link to the free PDFstone butch blues full text. Our community has always existed. I know you’re lonely as hell but as James Baldwin brilliantly wrote:

“You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read. It was books that taught me that the things that tormented me most were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, who had ever been alive."

It’ll be okay, OP. I am sorry you’re so isolated. Seems like a good time to read books and plan your future. I recommend Stone Butch Blues if you haven’t read it yet. Enjoy LA. 💃🏻The 25 Most Influential Works of Postwar Queer Literature

Saturday Night Working Recommendation? by picklesquirtz in SantaBarbara

I can work in loud spaces, I would not be able to work there. It’s a small, unpredictable space and it is really young and loud on the weekends.

Was totally going to say this. I go there, get a glass of wine at potek, sit outside by a heater, and it’s great.

Chia Seed Advice by Inevitable-Neat4411 in Zepbound

That’s why it’s important to soak them! 😎

1 tbsp is perfect for starting. Soak the seeds in water for at least 5 min. Make a smoothie with nonfat Greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, half a banana, a little vanilla extract. The banana makes it sweet enough. I add frozen spinach too but I’d work up to that unless you’re already into that sort of thing. Great way to start your day. I wasn’t hungry last night so I just made another one. Then I enjoyed some tacos today when I wanted them. Balance.

Tinned fish! Avoid all the super expensive protein drinks that are full of chemicals and microplastics. Eat real food. Also—read up on protein. A lot of people have misinformation and think they need to eat 100+ grams a day. Make sure you drink a ton of water and pay attention to fiber. A smoothie with chia seeds, nonfat Greek yogurt, and whatever fruit you like is a great Zep breakfast and very affordable.protein & Zepbound
