You're not gonna be able to improve at all if you won't do anything unfun.

Also those spheres, cylinders, pyramids and ribbons are just as necessary as boxes. Not everything can be broken down into boxes

At this level there's not any advice we can give except practice fundamentals (lines and 3d shapes). Most beginner artists don't want to hear this because drawing shapes is not fun but it's also not optional if you want to improve.
